Lyrics: Just because I was looking for them in the comments and couldn't find them. I keep tellin' myself that it'll be fine You can't make everybody happy all of the time I found myself in a place that I've never been A place that I thought that I would never be There's people looking back at me I keep having this dream; I'm at party There's people throwing drinks and screaming telling me that I don't belong Lately life's been the same I find this comfortable place With all my friends and then my friends start telling me that I've always been wrong And I'm so tired of being wrong There was a time I could move there was a time I could breathe The crowded spaces filled with angry faces It didn't once cross my mind With paranoia on my heels; Will you love me still when we awake and you find that the sanity has gone from my eyes? I got secrets from you, you got secrets from me Because you're so worried about what I'm gonna think, Baby I'm worried too But if love is a game, girl then you're gonna win I'll spend the rest of my life bringing victory in If you want me to.
Of the 4 times I've seen them live they are very prepared and put everything into their shows. As an ex-musician I would venture to say they do very little drinking/drugs on the road. They're the best songwriters/musicians of our time and I love playing their songs.
still crazy to see these guys like this....we used to play the same local coffee shops in concord and went to school together. they always loved music more than anything, and i'm glad that hasn't left them.
all i can say is wow! happy, intelligent, beautiful, maybe there's still hope for the music of our future generations if music like this not only stays alive but grows and grows and grows.
you guys are the whole reason i picked up guitar and learned how to play and most recently the banjo too :) you are my inspiration and in my opinion, you are THE best music group out there!
I work on the road and my new roommate was geeking out on meth playing this song 10000 times all night so I guess I got a new song out of that long shitty night
I heard these fellas in Greenville SC in 07 or 08 in a little record store called Horizon records that was attached to a restaurant called the bohemian something. A crown of 50 ppl, 6 feet away from their genius. Afterwards they signed my shoe 😂. Boy do I miss those days.
@PurelyTomFoolery It really is beautiful, helped me too. Some things just seem to make you feel a way which is indescribable. I am so thankful for this kind of music, I am glad it has this effect on people.
I'm in love with Hannah! She also got me to listen to Marina and the Diamonds. It's funny though because I've liked the Avett Brothers for a while, makes me love Hannah even more to know have similar taste lol
@77Flip77 I wouldn't say that just yet, I am holding on to the idea that they did the new album the way they did to reach a broader audience, and that after this one, perhaps one more that is similar, they are gonna revert back to Four Theives Gone/ Mignonette style.
@WhOStoLeGitsum kinda doubt they'll backtrack... I'm guessing they'll keep evolving and playing all the instruments they've learned... I saw a version of "Head Full of Doubt" live (the first live performance) and Scott said they just happened to fall into using the piano and drums to write the I&L&Y songs and that for all they know they'll pick up other new instruments later. I actually find it badass that they had such a change-up right at their major-label debut
Lyrics: Just because I was looking for them in the comments and couldn't find them.
I keep tellin' myself that it'll be fine
You can't make everybody happy all of the time
I found myself in a place that I've never been
A place that I thought that I would never be
There's people looking back at me
I keep having this dream; I'm at party
There's people throwing drinks and screaming telling me that I don't belong
Lately life's been the same I find this comfortable place
With all my friends and then my friends start telling me that I've always been wrong
And I'm so tired of being wrong
There was a time I could move there was a time I could breathe
The crowded spaces filled with angry faces
It didn't once cross my mind
With paranoia on my heels; Will you love me still
when we awake and you find that the sanity has gone from my eyes?
I got secrets from you, you got secrets from me
Because you're so worried about what I'm gonna think,
Baby I'm worried too
But if love is a game, girl then you're gonna win
I'll spend the rest of my life bringing victory in
If you want me to.
Thank you 💌
