@@marlenejojo1 Back in those days only Hindus and Norse people cremated. The god Hades (God of Death) preferred "cold" sacrifices to him. You think Gabrielle might have taken longer to wake up or be more fragile since Xena's coffin was the one getting all the direct Sunlight. True the cavern was probably warmer but still I don't think it would have been that easy.
If you're expecting any kind of reality when it comes to what can believably be done (and especially when it comes to Xena herself), then you're watching the wrong show :D
It's Greek mythology. Gods and magic. In Greek mythology, things happened for dramatic effect and storytelling. In the Illiad, gods use humans as pawns in some sick game. A god can easily end it all for whatever humans they are opposing, but they don't. Just like Zeus having the power to turn back time in the very first movie of Hercules: The Legendary Journeys. He does it once for Hercules, but that's it. He can easily do it again but doesn't. Just whatever serves the narrative and whatever makes a better thematic/dramatic story. Of course, things need to make some kind of sense. Character decisions need to be authentic, and they are. But physics... they're greek mythological physics.
@@ericconnor708 Just like that one time that Christopher Reeve's Superman went at full speed to turn back time and revive Lois Lane. That was just plot armour.
It's funny you say that because my grandmother who got me into watching Xena AND wrestling back in the day always used to say that Chyna was an Amazon and that she reminded her of Xena lol
An obvious one if you're familiar with tropes or storytelling in television series. A baby introduced creates a problem of hauling a baby around. So if you exist in a world where fantasy/supernatural/science-fiction exists, you do a time jump so the baby is now grown with a way to keep your main characters the same. Just like Gabrielle's baby being a demon so it grows rapidly. This 25 year time jump was my favorite section of Season 5. I wish it was explored even more in Season 6, like visiting Autolycus or Iolaus or Hercules, to see what their life was like in 25 years.
@@ericconnor708 It greatly bothered me how Hercules and Iolaus simply disappeared after the timeskip with no explanation. Hercules doesn't age due to being immortal so he could've easily show up after the timeskip, heck they could have him be the new king of Olympus after he killed Zeus as Zeus himself suggested before dying.
@@Bardim18 The most likely reason why there was no Hercules in Xena 6 was because Kevin Sorbo was filming Andromeda in Canada. Besides busy starring in his new TV series, he was still dealing with his condition from his strokes, so flying out to New Zealand probably wasn't too appealing or the best idea with the little free time he had.
It remains a mystery. Reminds me of the scene where Xena is thrown in the prison's isolation area, underground with all the rats and the writers left that a mystery too, as to how she actually escaped.
@@cherylwatson4293 in regards to the prison episode with the rats--she got her chakram when Gabrielle tried to give it to her before getting caught. She bit a rat and threw it at the chakram and it fell on her releasing her from the shackles. She probably just climbed up after.
Gab and Xena staged an accident by taking a poison that would allow them to fake their deaths and be clinically dead, to avoid the persecution of the Olympian gods who were hunting them down so they could kill Eve, as she was prophesied as the bringer of Twilight and end of the gods. The poison effects would be temporary, but Ares ended up discovering their bodies, which wasn't part of the plan. He had no idea about the poison and so he grieved and mourned them both, then took them to the top of the mountain to bury them in ice coffins as a sign of respect. I guess it works out similar to cryostasis in Xenaverse. What's truly tragic is that Joxer did know about their plan, but had no idea what happened to their bodies. So he was just left wondering what happened to his best friends for 25 years.
I always wondered what woke them up, and what or who was supposed to wake them up if Ares didn't take them. How about, Xena was going to stab herself with her own sword before Ares stopped her. I know that was for show, but would she have gone through with it?
