FYI, reassigning a mode on the dial is possible also on the E-M5 Mark II. It is disappointing this is not possible on the OM-5 (and I think the same applies to the E-M5 mark III). I would normally use only A-S-M, so it's very convenient to reassign P-SCN- etc to other 'MySets'. I'd normally leave only 'iAuto' untouched, in case I'm asking someone not familiar with the camera to take a picture for me.
I agree, why should someone compromise ones credibility on untrue opinion about a tested product. I have always felt you were completely honest about your opinions. And I do not think that OMDS would demand you or any other vlogger to lie about their products. Thank you 😅
It's mainly because of the custom modes and also the tilting screen that I got the OM10 II, they are assets for street photography. My EM5 III is only used second-hand for landscape photography or when it rains with a tropicalized pro lens.

Dear Peter, Thanks for all the knowledge you share with us. I'm not a pro Hobbyist. usually i am a Nikon user (Nikon Z8 and ZFC) but i have OLYMPUS PEN PL-7 as well. Want to upgrade my street Photography to Olympus EM-5 mk iiii or OM-5 and need your help is take decision is the cheaper EM-5 iii is the cheaper one is good enough or better to jump to the OM-5/. Thanks
I have front button as c1, movie record as c2, iso as c3. This only works in Manual mode. So if i jump into a menu to activate a setting (eg bracketing) i leave the custom setting i was on. My work around for this is to assign the settings i would want to turn on and off (that arent in the control panel menu) to the drive and |○| buttons on top left. These can be assigned to different functions within each custom setting. So in my wildlife/children custom setting i have x2 teleconverter and face detect on/off. But in my woodland/landscapes the same buttons are assigned to ND filter and Bracketing. I'm hoping a firmware update will allow Art and Scn to be used as custom buttons in the future.

Peter - some good ideas to try out to add to the more routine features of the OM5 which is a fine camera ! Unfortunately I missed the LIVE STREAM on Monday 5th June about the May 2023 assignments. Is there a link that you could send me so that I can access it ? that would be great as I much enjoy seeing the range of images and the critique as a learning exercise .

OM system are having identity crisis on the om5.... They wana target beginner with all these art mode... when theyre priced - £1000K hahahah... For real? you're either a beginner camera with begginer price.... or youre a semi pro enthusiast... in which case give us the C1 and c2 C3.... jesus christ

That is a good choice. C2 can be assigned to a button, so you have even more customized settings.

If you do not need the new features OM-5 has, then you will fine with E-5 MKIII for street photography.

I agree that more Customs Buttons should be added via firmware. It use to be like that in E-M10 MKII.
Looks like there a way to toggle thru 4 custom settings via button assignment? Yes ?

It cannot. You can only use it as a webcam.
