Season 2 had production issues in addition to the writers/directors strike. It also took 168 days just to shoot the season. Yes the 3 year lomg wait has been PAINFUL. But I'm glad that it's FINALLY back.
Agree, this show is perfect. One of the best TV shows ever made. Up there with Chernobyl, Band of Brothers, Generation Kill, The Haunting of Hill House, Heartstopper.

This show originally wasn’t going to have a second season. Not many watched it when it dropped. It took petitions to get season 2 green lit. That’s why it took 3 years. So it was a worse feeling than you even know 😭
It’s pre-written for 3-5 seasons, but Apple only bought one at first. The pandemic and writer/actor strikes were a big factor, too. I’m still angry at Netflix for winning the OA in a bidding war, then dropping it after 2 seasons and zero marketing. Apple has crud marketing, but Severance’s producers have done some effective but fairly cheap stuff like the Grand Central Station pop up & advance copies of season 2 to content creators…though they passed over Severance Peaks, which is funny

COVID and the writers strike contributed to the delay of season 2, but defiantly worth the wait esp. since season 1 is fun to re-watch 😊
