With the recent ammo shortage, I’ve started investing in BB Guns, airsoft and laser training. The airsoft and BB guns I’ve purchased, all have recoil, making shooting very realistic. This is going to be my primary training method, going forward. Better than going to the local ranges close to me, where no dynamic shootings are allowed anyways; just paper targets only.
@@willyjilly9684 May be a liability issue, but for me, it’s a little frustrating. There’s also the fact that ranges can pack a bunch of shooting lanes, instead of setting up a couple of dynamic shooting rooms for customers. So, money may actually be the number factor, rather than safety. If dry fire is good enough for the experts, then realistic training with Airsoft, BBS, & Lasers, have to be better.
I think everyone else is getting the idea of training like this with air guns. I did, now co2 is sold out every where around here. I was smart and stocked up on co2 and bbs learned my lesson from real ammo shortage
This is an M1A1 though. It doesn't even have a drum attaching joints (I don't know what you would call those to be honest) . If they make an I dunno , 1928 Thompson , I think they'll make a drum mag for it.
The drum mag was famous because of one man al capone he did not make the gun but he used it 1946 Feb 23 shot him self in the head from drug addiction and depression
Oh gosh. I always loved the air compressor operated "tommy guns" at the fair, where you shot the red star out with full auto BBs. Have always wanted to be able to have that kind of fun at home!
I bought mine a year ago. The magazine was a pain to load, being it took one hand to hold the spring back to load it. I bought an extra mag and discovered, they made a notch to improve it. Secondly, after passing it around, we ran it low on Co2. Causing it to jam and move the barrel. This caused it to jam constantly. To remedy the situation, trial and error, I put it back where it goes. Then, I added gun oil. This made it shoot 30 bb's in 3 seconds, without compromising accuracy. So, if yours starts jamming, you know what to do. I love my new toy!
That'd be pretty sick mate. It'd be cool to have a 100 round drum for historical accuracy and a drum that fits as many BBs and c02 cartridges as possible.
1 email. My boy you need to call pick up a phone send 100 emails. This is how you get stuff done. Imagine you have an idiot there for CS, you need to reach out to more important people. 🎉
Fun fact, if this were Airsoft (significantly safer than metal BBs), it would require a blaze orange tip. I used to have an electric airsoft Thompson. Still fun. Nice review.
@GbbJunkie Yeah, I know the orange tips are removable. I was major into airsoft about 6 years ago. Just pointing out the stupidity of those regulations...
I can't figure out why they don't have a drum magazine available for this gun, I have searched online extensively for one during the time when I ordered mine. The drum magazine on the Thompson is what this gun is know for. Iconic. They are doing a great injustice to this gun until a drum is available j/s
This is a terrific alternative to owning the real thing. With the astronomical price of a real M1A1, if you can even find one and the cost of ammo, this is a fine high quality FUN piece. A word to the wise: CHECK THE SCREWS ON THE PIECE AND MAKE SURE THEY ARE NOT A BIT LOOSE! I lost the one from the fore end, luckily in my Gun Room. CAUTION- make sure to have a proper Gunsmith Quality set of drivers. Don't just pick up a run of the mill household screwdriver. Now go and have the time of your life with this High Quality offering from UMAREX.
Great video, I just received mine today, a question for you, does the magazine follower lock so you can load the bbs, mine does not lock, I may return the gun.
I've been eyeballing these for sometime now and the hefty price had kept me from buying. Honestly though it looks really nice with real wood and metal. Think of it like this, you can't shoot a 10/22 inside or in your backyard.
@@user-dv8ge8hf1o understandable on the backyard part, but that’s what I use airsoft for, get the same models as your actual guns and you can do it in the backyard for cheap and train as well,
@@user-dv8ge8hf1o I have the umarex MP40 & it works the same way. Awesome fun. Caught it on sale for under $200 at Cabelas. An extra mag is a worthwhile investment

Same here in Indiana. Gun range wont allow rapid shooting, holster draw, and like you said paper target only.

Grimberg gavel is the best secondary option to a gun
Followed by salt supply S2
They should make a drum mag! (I know, I know, it wouldn't be historically accurate but still cool)

I actually figured out how to design a drum mag. Unfortunately, UMAREX never answered my email.

Well your not to be shooting metal bbs at people in the first place.
@@davidwatchesyoutubebut orange tip is only required when selling…
*Most of the power of the CO2 cartridges is used in moving the "bolt", not propelling the BBs?*
These would be cool just to hang on your wall. The dummy plugged Tommy guns that don't shoot sell for about the same price.

The 1928 model has the drum mag. The 1921 has the stick mag. I have both !

NO
Thanks for posting this review.
Bought this last week.
Next up, an XM-177 😎👍
Yes please. Far too many "M4" style rifles on the market. A Vietnam era AR15 would be very welcome
That is actually an awesome present for one man to give to another lol
3:30 Why does the packaging says Selbstladewaffe?
Is that thing from Germany? Weird.
"Semi auto firearm" I'm sure they sell these in the EU. So they need that on the box.
I found these in Germany.
Umarex is a German company
Does the bolt lock back on this one or the real one?
Great video thanks!
How much for real wood furniture?
This sad but if I was to shoot that in my backyard I would get a visit from law enforcement
Just call them first and give them a heads up before the neighbors do, and you're good to go. It's completely legal, after all.
If I was the responding officer I'd want to shoot it!

The Second Amendment says all guns are legal in CA, or anywhere else for that matter! Don't take that as legal advice though.
