What happens when your active bass or guitar battery dies? It's pretty crazy on my Peavey G Bass.

  • Here's an example of a pair of 9 volt batteries that have died in my Peavey G Bass. It's an active bass with an 18 volt circuit that had really old batteries and I left it plugged in for a long time. This one makes some crazy noise

Basically a free overdrive pedal. I will keep that in mind!

I’ve always wanted a G Bass, mostly because I love Peaveys and that one is very unique.
I had a battery fail before a gig once, swapped it out with a new one (also bad), spent the next 15 min panicking, thinking my preamp was bad, but the 3rd battery (from my guitarist (imagine how embarrassing THAT is) resolved the problem)!
I’ve been passive ever since, and usually bring a spare passive bass as a backup.
I’m usually amp less and have ALL the EQ knobs I need on my pedalboard.
Thanks for the vid! Beautiful bass!
