on JackSucksAtGeography we upload a range of easy to watch geography related games. We mainly play Sporcle games like "naming all 197 countries". I successfully learned all 197 countries and plan to learn more Geography trivia. On this channel I also play Geoguessr. This is a game that uses Google Street View to drop you in a random location and you have to work out exactly where you are on the worldwide map. Geoguessr was created in 2013. Fun fact about Dominica:
It is one of two current flags to contain purple, the other being Nicaragua. And the bird on it is called the Imperial amazon. A bird found only on the island. And yes, they are quite purple. Because of the island’s natural beauty, they have used the island as a backdrop for Pirates of the Caribbean

When I learned all 197 flags was pretty much the same way, just different pneumonics. Also, I knew like 100 beforehand as well, so i didn't need to learn all of them

I wanna say, Jack’s content on this channel has genuinely kept me sane during quarantine. Not only did I get loads of fun content to watch, but it gave me something to do. Pancakes are usually more purple on one side but if you cook it a bit longer than normal it is blue
The other side is usually red and it doesn't change color unless you heat it for a really really really long time

I’ve inadvertently developed some memory tricks for these flags. I use the same H for Honduras that Jack did, also the things on the St Vincent flag look like a V for Vincent, and the stabby thing on the Barbados flag has barbs on it

When Jack started this series with learning the countries in Europe, even I started learning things like that & I now know 197/197 world countries, 50/50 us states, 28/28 Indian states, 45/50 US state capitals, 143/197 world capitals & 103/197 world flags. When I saw Jack learning the flags of the world, even I decided to give it a try & I got 76/197 on my first try (even though I knew about 30) because of Jack's ways of memorizing the flags. Thank you Jack for helping me use my time more productively. ❤

I remember the Bahamas flag as Bahamas rhymes with bananas which are yellow and Bahamas has yellow in the flag. simple.

Well, he uses the principles of the Art of Memory or Mnemonic. The first of this techniques was invented by Simonides of Keos. Men like Aristotle, Cicero and Thomas Aquinas wrote on the topic. yes! i say the same thing with suriname: "suriname, like vietnam" every time. also, in my personal flag learning journey, both countries that have a "door" sound has a "door"/coat of arms in its flag. Ecuador & Andorra! both look similar to other countries flags on their continents.

You should do American States flags after finishing all the countries
Depending on the game, that's either super easy because most of the state names are literally written on the flag, or super hard if you can't see the names, since almost all state flags look the same.
If you want a break then try this on sporcle: Can you pick the Sporcle-accepted countries of the world WITHOUT making one mistake?

A good way to remember peru is that the last bit sounds like rouge, which is french for red, and the majority of the flag is red.
I've recently learned all the flags of the world and I have some tips that helped me:
Rhyming (E.G. "the one with the star, is Myanmar" because Myanmar has a big star)
Sounds (E.G. Slovenia and Slovakia sound very similar, and they have very similar flags)
Links (E.G. The colours of Hungary represent food)
Personal (E.G. The Guinea flag is vertically striped red, yellow and green. I had a guinea pig when I was younger called Ruby (she had red eyes) and red is the first colour)
Observations (E.G. Central African Republic has a blue line down the centre)
Links (E.G. Panama looks like some photos together)
Observations (E.G. Micronesia has very little on it and "micro" means small)

Some of American flags are similar because of their history. Colombia, Venezuela and Ecuador (as well as Panama) were parts of Viceroyalty of New Granada, Gran Colombia and New Granada (not Viceroyalty), and Guatemala, Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua (and Costa Rica) were parts of Viceroyalty of New Spain, Mexico and Federal Republic of Central America.

I had the same idea for Venezuela as jack
1:44 that’s actually true, when you pronounce chile this way 1:46 for Latin-American people it sounds like "chili" the condiment, but if you pronounce it this way 1:45 it sounds like the real name. We don’t like it when they say the name of our country pronouncing it as if it were the chili seasoning, it diminishes us as a country and reduces us to a simple object.
