She probably didn't talk about it here because of the shows policy or legalities and whatnot. But yeah! Native Americans have been protesting the installment of a pipeline that is planned to go across the Missouri River - their only source of drinking water. Many tribes across the US and even many non-natives have gathered to protect the water and land of the Sioux tribe and many others around the river, and it's still an ongoing protest right now! It's a really big issue, and it's not getting as much coverage as it should, but she's definitely brought a lot of attention to it.
Ahhhh, to be young and capable of doing grungy, impromptu road trips. I don't miss those days...but I miss being able to enjoy those days. Nothing quite like it.
I love how these celebrities are "fascinated" by our normal people's Walmart. In fact, I don't even like Walmart too much...I'm more of a Target shopper myself. But still...they're fascination is so funny too me.
It was more of an LA thing. In some places, Walmart is not big at all and so to see how prominent and integral it is in other places of the country can be a bit jarring.

For family vacations, my parents would take us on RV trip along the East coast of the US and, when campgrounds weren't available, Wal-Mart parking lots were usually the place to sleep. Helps that they're usually open 24 hours as well. And in very small towns, teens tended to congregate with their pick-up trucks and music in the parking lot as well. Great memories.
