Watching this makes me realize how awkward it would be to be an actor and how hard it would be not to laugh. Though it is cool seeing it with out all the CGI and effects and then seeing the finished project.

It's enough of Spiderman, Batman, Hulk, Green Lantern, transformers, Ironman and Avengers. How much time they will cook the same soup. Guardians of the Galaxy brings fresh new style to Sci-Fi and Valerian takes it even further. Big Space battles, space ship chases, alien invasions, new worlds big VFX all this does not belong just to Star Wars. If it was from Marvel , Box office opening and reviews would look much better. You like it or you hate it.
I just checked and right now, the movie is at 115 millions worldwide, on a budget of 177. Not that bad IMO. And the movie didn't hit China yet. The opening weekend in America was pretty bad but the competition was strong and nobody in the USA know Valerian so... Anyway, let's hope Valerian will find its audience. So many good stories still to tell. I can't wait to see "Les foudres d'Hypsis" in cinemas.
Alex Dumitrescu look at it this way, the fifth element flopped and got slated too! He just has the balls to make what he wants and not care about box figures. He has said in interviews the massive budget was covered in pre-sales, so it's not making a loss. But you know how it is, everything these days wants it to make its money back the first month in box office otherwise it's not seen as a success. In reality cult films like blade runner and fifth element were actual box office flops but built a cult following over time !
most of the times, long 12 hour or longer days at times, if on location away from home for months, retakes, yes can be great at times and is great work, easy, NO!

Sometimes it's a total Pain in the Ass - auditions, travel, away from home (if it's a location shoot), waiting for the next call-back (if you're still 'breaking into the business '), etc. But when you're on stage, be it live theater or a sound stage, the Reward of taking a role, even a one-liner, and making it Yours - Wow.
I went from thinking Cara was massively annoying, because every other advert and shop window display I saw had her selling something, to falling completely in love with her by the end of this film. Marvel or DC need to give her a fun role like this. Suicide Squad wasted her.
Truely amazing film such wonderful actors and all crew, the movie entitles the possibility to envision other dimensions clearly, mind-boggling scenes, every year I watch it so many times .
I like sci-fi films and this one was quite good, it had a good story line and characters. There are some films which the critics raved over which I disliked, same old story and bad outcome.
Such an awesome movie ruined by miss cast lead actors. Not saying they are bad actors, just they didn't fit the parts. I still love watching it though, it's a visual feast!
