Just an idea to reduce harsh shadows - bouncing light on your left (viewers right). Hanging white cloth just outside the shot, mirrors could help reduce shadows. It might not work perfectly, but an idea to try if you like location and don't want artificial lights 😊
I'm aware of all of the things that I need to do to avoid the lighting situation but sometimes good enough is better than perfect, especially when it means not needing to fuss with a set-up as I juggle filming content between life, a full-time job, and more. Thanks for watching!

I'm trying to get through as many projects as I can before I start grad school next fall. I have a lot of cable cardigans and pullovers going. I'm most looking forward to making a storm sweater to wear around the house with leggings for ultimate coziness (especially since I mostly wear skirts and dresses to work even in the middle of Michigan's winters (the secret is fleece lined thermal tights)).

It's actually been very cool here in Washington state for August! So that's probably why the weather at Flock was so nice :) I've been so happy about it because usually August is around 80 degrees and the air is full of wildfire smoke, but the last few weeks have been very nice. (We did have a brief heat wave in July that was insufferable). Also your moodboard is making me want to try out cables!
My go to style in Autumn is also very Dark Academia . I love seeing the style become more popular because seeing others wear a style I hold dear is so thrilling. Loose and flowy and airy with dark, rich colours? Chef's kiss 😩🤌 I have just redone my entire wardrobe for the cooler months ahead and I'm so excited . I lived in FL but have just moved to VA recently and now I need warm clothes again lol So! My husband and I were just talking about starting up Gilmore Girls again! 😅 It's his first watch through and we're onto season 5 I think. I'm still enjoying the last few weeks of summer. Thanks for spending some time with me! I think for me, the dark academia vibe is definitely a way to incorporate my knits more into my day-to-day life since I work in a business casual environment. One of my goals this year was to create more basics that worked in my everyday life and not just when I wanted to wear something fun after hours or on weekends.
I LOVE Gilmore Girls! It's my comfort show 😊 Back when it first released (Even with my terrible memory , I STILL remember the pilot. I feel so old 😭), my mum and I sat down to watch and we were INSTANTLY hooked. It was our evening ritual to sit down and watch Gilmore Girls together and laugh and giggle and enjoy the show. We have a very similar Rory and Lorelei type relationship ourselves. We're extremely close and speak everyday 🤭 I will definitely be diving right into my yearly ritual of starting GG on the first day of autumn 🍂 and I can't wait! ❤

Just finished and am wearing a Leela top cause it's hot down here in DC! I have Aimee's campus vest on my list plus a Pelica vest by Rosa Pomar. The book club cardi is on my dream knitting list for sure, yours is stunning. Worked on the color work on a pair of socks while listening, Among the Wildflowers by Jessica McDonald. I reversed it and did toe up so I'm almost done! New to doing color work on socks so I'm learning a lot about my tension.....have gone up needle sizes twice already! Look forward to your next video.

This is adorable!!! I have a fall capsule mood board but I’m not sure the name of the aesthetic haha! I will be making an olive gingham linen full-placket hinterland, some rust/brick linen view a chantrelle pants, a mustard double gauze view a chantrelle with the zipper, some olive linen Hines trousers (similar to view b of chantrelle), a linen and beige striped linen estuary skirt, a b&w Farnham tee (currently on the needles), an oatmeal colored seasons sweater by Ozetta, and I really need a couple of cardigans but I’m not sure I can handle the purling 😬 we shall see! Those are just a few of my planned pieces haha! Obviously I can whip up sewn pieces quicker than knit, but we shall see what get accomplished ;) we also don’t have much of a fall most years, so I’m thinking fall, spring, and summer capsule wardrobes which all have pieces that can blend into the next capsule as the seasons change, and winter will be covered between fall and spring. 🤔.
Loving your fall knitting plans - funnily enough, I have a SQ of Mota in the same colorway (246) and have the Book Club cardigan pattern staring at me from my Ravelry library. I might not make that particular pattern, but that yarn will become something cozy for this fall in CT!
Mia, Re: your lighting conundrum, when daylight begins shifting during your podcasting, simply move the camera closer to the window, yet, slightly angled toward your flowers then, shift your chair accordingly__the idea is the same as taking photo shots outside, the sun to the back of the camera while shining on you. Hi Debra- I’m aware of how to avoid the lighting issue which was the point of my comment. That requires time to set up and ensure I’m not showing areas of my home I don’t wish to make public.
