For any books you do not plan to use, save them for children's gifts during the year, Christmas, end of term prizes, birthday bags, etc.
In my 15 classrooms over the years, I have never had a storage room. That is awesome! Hope you have a great year!

I’m also moving from 4th to 2nd! All the best this year, can’t wait to see what you will be doing and using in your classroom.
I like to separate my animal books into Ocean, Arctic, Farm, then rest go in either a “general” Animals Fiction bin. I do also have some overlap with Animals Non Fiction” but it works. With some multiple copies of same title, I put one in each. You will acquire more animal books due to interest. I also used visual picture labeling system from Pocketful of Primary to help with the students independence in returning them to the proper bins! Works great, even in first grade! Thank you for your vlogs and good luck in Grade 2!
Our last day of summer school was June 24th. We stayed wore out every day after school. Super glad to get to enjoy the rest of our summer relaxing!
Newport is my favorite spot in New England! If you have a free day the Newport Mansions are a great day trip especially if you are interested in the Vanderbilt family and The Great Gatsby.

We use Amplify and it is a great program. It can be a little redundant in the lessons so my advice is to look through it and combine them
I can’t believe all the storage you have! I have to keep my stuff at home and bring it in as I need it.
On Nantucket definitely get ice cream at the Juice Bar in downtown! The waffle cones are incredible!

I’m teaching summer school. Finished the first two weeks, four hours each day. It was exhausting!
I'm glad you had a chiropractic appointment after moving all those boxes! I've been following your channel for years. I'm so happy for you that you are moving to 2nd but I have to say I'm sad for me because I am a 4th grade teacher, also in West Michigan, and I will be missing all your 4th grade content! I know you will still be sharing wonderful videos that I will love! I'm excited to see your new classroom setup.
I just started going to the chiropractor this year and it honestly has been life changing!! It was so necessary after the move. I always look forward to going in for adjustments. Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment, Jen!
I'm changing grade levels as well, Kindergarten to 3rd Math and Science. Not looking forward to moving my stuff. 😅 Good luck this year! 2nd grade is going to be a blast!

I'm from Massachusetts originally. Definitely check out Plymouth! You can see the plantation, the Mayflower, and walk the jetty. It's absolutely beautiful and on the way to Boston from the cape! Get a lobster roll at either Wood's seafood or Lobster hut!!! I live in Tennessee now and miss Massachusetts so much! Enjoy! 😎
there is a place in Boston where you can learn about and reenact the Boston Tea Party. It's kind of cheesy but might be a fun story to bring back to your students. Also, Boston is where Benjamin Franklin was from and he is buried there along with his family. I think there is also a replica of one of his printing presses. Of course, Boston is chalk full of US history.
How does summer school at your school work? The internship I do we teach reading and math and faith (it’s Christian school), they eat lunch and have recess and then we have assembly and go home. The lesson plans are super long too.
I feel you on having boxes of unorganized books! It’s a blessing and a curse. I’m always like should I just donate them but then I just can’t do it 🤣
The Raw Bar on Cape Cod is AMAZING!!
You can see the brass ducks from Make Way for Ducklings in Boston Commons. pictures of the actual park and swan boats excite the kids. I also had a map so we could follow the walk and other landmarks in the book. At the Historic Burial Ground I have a bunch of relative buried, two have flags at their graves, unless they were taken done because they are Founding Fathers.
On the cape try pirate cove mini golf in Hyannis. The cape is so much fun.
