'Yes yes yes!' comes to mind with every slides that passes. Regeneration is taking good and growing more good from it. Not washing off bad and making it look less bad. Regeneration at this stage is a nursery which when well attended to will bear beautiful fruit tomorrow.
While I appreciate the ideas about regeneration and the needed paradigm shift, what remains unanswered for me is how could tourism be something other than conflicting/ irreconcilable with regeneration? I love travel….but I have a hunch that for most of us on the planet, we shouldn’t be going very far from home base to scratch that itch. I believe that itch …. We need to unpack it. Why is travel important to us? What does it do for us? Can we find new ways to do those things without consuming so much energy? That energy consumed will not be “regenerated” in our lifetime unless we walk or bike or sail for our travel, or else we discover a new abundant and clean source of energy.
What a great presentation! I'm currently writing my master thesis about regenerative tourism, and would like to cite this. Can you help me with the date this session was held and which city it was hosted from (eventhough it was online)? Thanks!

Absolutely - it will be a crucial concept to help us on the journey that lies ahead. Thank you for appreciative words.
