0:36-0:41 = I'd like to give a special thank you to the drummer for clearing things up here. Sometimes shit like making a band name out of the members' initials can get impossibly confusing. At first, I was all like "Wait a second, what? Who...? Huh?", but then Mr. Precision stepped in and saved the day with his god-like insight and mastery of the english language. The man is truly gifted in more ways than one.
He said their album just got done being mixed... just imagine being the one trying to mix it. You’d be like, “it sounds best when I turn every knob down to zero.”
My Band does a cover of Complete's Hoogie-Boogie Land, and Beautiful Sunrises. We're even looking for a band name by following their method. My names Angel, so 'A'. Bass player is called Steve, 'S'. Drummer is Sean, another 'S'. And the two guitarists are called Harry and Leslie. So lets see, that's ASSH_L_.
Todd just REALLY wants to make sure everyone understands the gibberish Curtis is saying. Even before he cleared up the confusion about the mannitials, he made sure to translate that when Curtis said, "Todd," he really meant, "Todd." Then, he succinctly summed up all the confusion about the mannitials. Not only were they mannitials, they were in that band name.
This group is Iconic they actually paved the way for special needs bands. Sparky's very humble nowadays, he gave up a lucrative music career to work at the local Family Dollar.
Sparky is amazingly not in the initials that spells Complete. Unless of course you use the C as the S sound. Then yes, its Complete! However Curt has the C so the possibilites are endless! Love this fuckin band!
You guys can make fun all day long I will laugh with you But you listened, and it was fun And yes I was the original guitar player with no experience, make fun all you want, I will laugh right there with you
All jokes aside, all irony aside, I genuinely enjoy watching these videos. You guys were so full of energy and confidence, I can’t help but feel respect. It’s just like Peter once said: you might not have been the greatest musicians, but you were great entertainers. I mean it without a shred of condescension. Curt had charisma and Peter was killing it with his outfit. He was perhaps the only person who could wear a Dr Seuss hat without looking ridiculous. The stage presence of your band has an inexplicable appeal despite the music’s quality. The interview is hilarious but also interesting. The story behind the release of these videos is quite curious. Complete is often cited as an example of the “so bad it’s good” phenomenon, and I must admit I’ve never seen anything quite like that before. Yes, the music is disastrous from a technical standpoint, but the passion of the members is very endearing, and it’s indeed fun to watch. You guys were unique. The fact that people still talk about you even 30 years later is a testament to that. I was disheartened to learn that both Peter and Curt have passed away, they seemed like nice men. I regret not coming across this band sooner. Mark, I don’t know if you will read my comment, but if you do read it, I just want you to know that you and your late bandmates made some of my days better. Thank you.
"We wanted to form an original band, that´s like nothing else... You know, like the bands in the 70s & 80s" COMPLETE logic. Musically talented, articulate, AND adroit at spelling. COMPLETE were gods on earth. Its no wonder they are no longer with us. They probably just hardrocked themselves into a cooler dimension.
Probably the most underestimated band of all time. I bought one of their demos at a gig and I found a little gem on there called Hoogie-Boogie land. I played it to death, and even today I listen to it. No compilation cd is complete (forgive the pun) without Hoogie-Boogie land, Dream-Ing and Hot as hell.
They're in the band name. Complete. All them initials are in that band. name. I love the interviewer as well. He really keeps everything legit. I wonder if he knew what was about to happen. It's 14 years later and I wonder if those studio sessions are still being "burned down to a cd"? I mean Curtis did say, " It's in the process and know know it , takes time"...."Just like Mark said, we've found something kind of special thats why we stay with it.
"How long has the band been together?" I'm guessing since about 63 seconds before this interview. "When you get the CD is it gonna be for sale in the stores or you gonna sell it at the gigs?" What gigs, lol. I'm guessing it'll be sold from their van "down by the river" or from his grandma's basement. Call the hotline to order. Operators standing by. One question, don't u first have to have some music before you can upgrade it?, lol. SNL couldn't have written this any better. Genius.
I had a brief stint after graduating high school in 2005, where I wrote monthly articles to the Harder Beat newsletter for DFW. I mainly reviewed and interviewed local bands at Monte Carlos in Arlington and you would NOT BELIEVE how awful many of those bands were. There was one band in particular who I would say rivaled Complete's sound, and that was a little known band by the name of Scission lol I remember one night their manager hooked me up with a demo CD telling me they sounded like Pantera. I played their shit in my car later that night and I soon wanted a bottle of scotch and a handgun so I could shoot myself in the fucking head.
I am astounded by the eloquent and thoughtful comments....at first I thought that this was a wind up....you know...I thought they were kidding...then shades of Thelonious Monk crept into my consciousness and I considered a captain beefheart sortof thread.... then I listened to Dream-ing and now ...well frankly I am at a serious loss for words. I laughed, I cried, I made a mess on the carpet.
On the contrary, they don't seem to be high on drugs at all. That's what makes them all the more charming. It's like they're too stupid to realize how bad they are. They're so awful, they're awesome.
@chuck3377 It's hillarious because the word their innitials really spell out is an incomplete version of the word Complete. It's cosmic, brother, these guys were meant to be together. No doubt about that.
I live in the Dallas / Fort Worth area and have been involved in the underground "scene" since the 80's and I can honestly say I have never heard of this band.I wonder if they did any vinyl pressings of their CD?
This is your brain. This is your brain on drugs. Any questions? Thx @TommyJoeRatliff for giving me my biggest laugh today! The comments are hilarious - laughing my butt off! Thought it was gonna be an interview w/Tommy, Monte, etc. per his tweet: "found the interview we did after the show! lets rock! -- Complete - Interview". I thought it was their "complete" after-show interview, lol!!! They also have "Complete - Behind the Music" on YT. I could only watch it for about 2-1/2 min.
I have watched this video about 50 times already and I think I just now noticed that everyone has their name printed on their shirts. Well except for sparky. He's too classy.
The hotline number doesn't work anymore. It was some angry black dude the first time I called, then I called a week later to tell him to look complete up online and his damn phone had been disconnected. I want to hoogie boogie the singer and sparky.
They seem like genuine people who really cared about their unique sound and I respect that. I'm a big fan of this band. It's real.
Oh please. They sucked.

😂😂😂😂😂
"After all the 'complications'". That phrase alone is pregnant with possibilities.
The drummer Todd forgot his drums.... we play what we play
Yeah, like when the Bartender showed them how to plug their guitars into the amps.
" all the manitials are in the band's name"...
Love it!
They could use used those same initials and called themselves COMPOST.
He said their album just got done being mixed... just imagine being the one trying to mix it. You’d be like, “it sounds best when I turn every knob down to zero.”

angels77100 find you a keyboard player named Oscar and a backup vocalist named Eddie and you’re good to go!!
All the manitials. HA!!
Damn, you beat me to it...by a year. LMAO
Spark it up sparky!
Why do I keep coming back to this video to hear about the manitials?
Todd is my hero. He is clearly the brains behind the operation. His input always clarifies the muddiest issues
Rest in peace Curtis. ❤
Curtis too??? Sparky's gone also.
they are still a band! this video takes place around 97. my coworker is going on tour in a month and booked a show with them!!!!! best band ever!!!!
Todd just REALLY wants to make sure everyone understands the gibberish Curtis is saying. 0:34 "are. In the... band, name. Thereinthebandname. Complete. All them initials are in that band. Name."
This fucking destroyed my sides. Thank you.
@@popperzockalew man i forgot i even discovered this band 😂 what a great rabbit hole.
Every town has a band like this but complete are the ultimate legends they will never be equaled.
"We wanted to form an original band, that´s like nothing else... You know, like the bands in the 70s & 80s"
COMPLETE logic.
Musically talented, articulate, AND adroit at spelling. COMPLETE were gods on earth. Its no wonder they are no longer with us. They probably just hardrocked themselves into a cooler dimension.
such legends
All them initials are in that band....name.
Probably the most underestimated band of all time. I bought one of their demos at a gig and I found a little gem on there called Hoogie-Boogie land. Those songs aree all on my ipod
"We want to make a band like no other...like the ones from the 70s and 80s" (cue homer simpson confused look)
They're in the band name. Complete. All them initials are in that band. name. I love the interviewer as well. He really keeps everything legit. I wonder if he knew what was about to happen. My new Quest....must find the Complete CD
Any progress on that quest? Has anyone searched for it on ebay?
Complete, you complete me.
"we can do cover music but we don't feel that's ever gonna get us known"
Brother, you drove in that last nail with a hydrogen bomb...
You can really tell they've been working on their sound. I'm glad they'll never sellout and do covers.
My mind. is fucking. BLOWN! I don't know wether to laugh, cry, or run around screaming!
Could be worse. You could wake up in Hoogie Boogie Land.
These guys rock!!! Hoogie-boogie land, yea!
Interviewer: “We finally got you here”
Curtis: “Yeah, we did”
In all reality, after all was said and done, their mission was and is Complete!
Mark, Peter, Todd, & Curtis will someday be as well known as John, Paul, George, & Ringo.
That bassist is as real as they come!
"we wanted to form an original band that's like nothing else...you know...like the bands of the 70s and 80s"
19 number one hits….5 Diamond albums….nothing but sold out stadiums….ladies and gentlemen, Complete!!!
i'm gonna watch this every morning, it gets me pumped.
Just looking at them you know they ROCK!
"We've been working on the music. We found something special."
I LOVE COMPLETE !!!!!
WHEN ARE THEY GOING ON TOUR?!!!!
Interviewer: So why did you guys not decide to do anybody else's music?
Reason: couldn't
Who the fuck can even live without hoogie boogie land? This my friend is the real question that needs to be addressed.
The best band ever.
2:30, words of a true genius.

I miss Harder Beat. Used to grab them from the Guitar Center off 75
TAKE ME TO THE HOOGIE BOOGIE LAND
A band like nothing else.. a band like the 70s and 80s.....
The singer is IRL William Murderface.
haha, "All the manitials are in the band name"
"..we wanted to form an original band that`s like nothing else" Well, you just can`t argue with that.
I give this band all the credit in the world!!!
From Texas: Stevie Ray Vaughn, Eric Johnson, ZZ Top, Johnny Winter, Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys, Freddie King and now... Complete
thank god they put a number to reach them on here...i will be calling them to play at my next party
On the contrary, they don't seem to be high on drugs at all. That's what makes them all the more charming. It's like they're too stupid to realize how bad they are. They're so awful, they're awesome.
they are true OG straight edge lords..
That what makes them artists and masters of camp, they're being completely serious.
First there was The Beatles, then the Rolling Stones, The Who, AC/DC. None of them can hold a candle to the legendary Complete.
Yep. Spot on
Are you kidding me?
"Why do you choose not to do anybody else's music?"
"Because nobody would recognize it anyway"
"We wanted to form a original band, that's like nothin else, you know, like the bands from the 70s and 80s."
"Why do you choose not to do anyone else's music." I don't think it's a choice folks.
@chuck3377
It's hillarious because the word their innitials really spell out is an incomplete version of the word Complete. It's cosmic, brother, these guys were meant to be together. No doubt about that.
You can tell that Sparky was the real brains by the outfit.
R.I.P Curtis and Creature.
"All them initials are in the name of the band."
This is priceless.
"We can do cover music" I think any band would be somewhat against letting this band play their songs!
has anyone dialed the complete hotline at the end of the video? I'm gonna give it a shot right now.
I live in the Dallas / Fort Worth area and have been involved in the underground "scene" since the 80's and I can honestly say I have never heard of this band.I wonder if they did any vinyl pressings of their CD?
I hope they're not kidding about that CD.
I could only watch it for about 2-1/2 min.
greatest band ever
This is pure art! Take that, all you Williamsburg hipsters. Complete will live forever! Can y'all relate?
Trying to talk to labels...so this is what helped to kill the recording industry. lol
Appreciate the guy interjecting emphasis on the point of manitials 0:36
I have watched this video about 50 times already and I think I just now noticed that everyone has their name printed on their shirts. Well except for sparky. He's too classy.
All the mnitials are in the name
Wow!.All them manitials...Who would´ve thought all of them were actually in the band name?
Thanks Patrick.
@1:00
"we've been workin on the sound"..
😂🤣
OMG THERE IS A CD!!!! WANT!
All the initials are in that band. Name.
@YardBirdFan Your comment was fucking genius. I love you.
Mad as a box of frogs.
If they did, they'd All be wearing them

awesome this guys are great
I admire their courage
"We wanted to form an original band, thats like nothing else, like the bands in the 70's and 80's" lol hahahaha
So, if you guys had an Ivan and a Ned in the band, you could be "IN-COMPLETE??"
I bet you guys rode the short bus to the interview, right?
"All the initials are in that band name."
Kiddies, just say 'NO!' to crystal meth.
cover songs are not from our hearts, from our souls.. our music comes from our hearts and from our souls..
I must have this album......
Mind = Blown
fuck theyve got a hot line! now that is something else!

0:37 all da minitials in that band name....these guys have the shortest tour bus in history...and it's yellow
Spark it up, Sparky!
The hotline number doesn't work anymore. It was some angry black dude the first time I called, then I called a week later to tell him to look complete up online and his damn phone had been disconnected.
I want to hoogie boogie the singer and sparky.
hooray for original bands like other bands!
amen.
