Funny thing triops are pretty similar to brine shrimp except in my opinion they are a bit more interesting but also a bit more difficult. Unlike brine shrimp as in sea monkeys. Triops have a tendency to eat other triops though they are hermaphroditic as well. But similar to brine shrimp they lay eggs that go dormant though with triops they kinda have to go dormant as its part if their life cycle since wild triops live in seasonal ponds that dry up so the eggs wait til it fills with water again during the rain season before they hatch and start the cycle over again. If you havent tried raising them before they are pretty interesting and get a lot bigger than brine shrimp. Though they are just as hearty as brine shrimp from my experience.
@@pico-cosmos good question honestly I dont know but they get pretty big so maybe a five gallon tank will be plenty of room. The tanks used when I was younger were a little bigger than a fish bowl and got over crowded leading to predation. Not sure how big they get exactly never measured but they get about the same size as a 25 cent coin in my country so roughly about a inch or so in average so you want lot of room and probably hiding places unless you want to see the triops version of the hunger games one thing I know for certain is that the containers that come in kits are not big enough for them.
love this and it's great that you are an expert but is this ethical? is growing sea monkeys through a kit good for them? I have always had this question.

THIS NEEDS MORE VIEWS! I enjoyed it! I’m really hooked with the good editing
Thanks! This video seems to have got quite a few more views in the last couple of days so hopefully that's a good sign :)
@@pico-cosmos I hope you get more views and more recognized. ❤️ I’ll subsrcribe✨
I honestly thought sea monkeys were kind of lame until this video. I never had them as a kid, but when I grew up I got Triops. I still prefer the Trippys (yes, i am biased) but sea monkeys are actually kinda cool! And they live longer which is neat.
Did you know that very fish tank is not safe at all for that sea monkey? I will explain. So basically, do you know how some Birds, hamsters, rabbits get like- VERY bad anxiety? It looks like that tank is too small for those two sea monkeys!
Thank you
I have often wondered about making an aquarium in a pasta jar and it looks like sea monkeys could be the right inhabitants
Yup! They’d definitely work 👍
"How much do you want to abuse animals?"
People: *yes*
Just a joke lol
Pretty cool actually.
Amazing video, really loved the way you took care of them😊
Cheers! This was a really fun video to make. I might try something like this again in the future with Daphnia
@@pico-cosmos wow, waiting for it😃
tf , yes he took care of them but NOT WITH THE SIZE OF THE "tank"
7:37 they’re still babies in their
“The world’s smallest aquarium really needs an audience”
You need an ATO on that mini tank to top up the evaporation! :)
I just googled this.. had no idea they existed but they would be a great idea for my larger brine shrimp tanks!
“Incapable of experiencing stress to any large degree” must be nice to not have stress lol
Dont keep em there tho, its pretty much prison
Me: oh well that looks like fun and simple
My betta fish: 👁️👄👁️ mmm brine shrimp
Brine shrimp:👀
Bro just stop talking 😐
This was great! I have you on notifications for 2 reasons:
Watch your video the moment it comes out
And hoping you do another free kit give away haha
Cheers Dan! Giveaways will start becoming a regular thing again soon :) I just got my channel monetised so I can start investing a little more $$ into it now
@@pico-cosmos Fantastic! If I wasn’t a poor student I’d pick one up myself lol But I enjoy watching your videos. I’m learning so much about something that would always be in novelty shops growing up, and your channel changed my mind from thinking it’s a novelty to an actual legitimate hobby
The worlds smallest aquarium really needs an audience
So if I do not find sea monkeys soon…
I'll blow up into smithereens
I'm using an 8 ounce spring water bottle to grow them so I can show people, not bad so far
nice, how long have you had it going for?
@@pico-cosmos I'm on week three and the originals from the kit you used have grown into adults while three generations of 1/10th teaspoon are in the two gallon tank
@@pico-cosmos hardest part is cleaning the water from the poop and ammonia from the tank the filter pushes the brine shrimp out gently but the effort takes all day
@@nodatastored684 I've never tried using a filter with a brine shrimp tank before, it doesn't seem to be necessary even though it's probably ideal
@@pico-cosmos that KS for the tip

A single drop of my bath water after I get in after 3 days of not bathing: Am I a joke to you?
Facebook aquariums:
There actually could have been a filter in it, substitute the black sand for activated charcoal
This fits easily 2-3 goldfish
I'll definitely try raising them sometime next year! They look super interesting to me. Any idea what a good tank size would be?
@@pico-cosmos good question honestly I dont know but they get pretty big so maybe a five gallon tank will be plenty of room. The tanks used when I was younger were a little bigger than a fish bowl and got over crowded leading to predation. Not sure how big they get exactly never measured but they get about the same size as a 25 cent coin in my country so roughly about a inch or so in average so you want lot of room and probably hiding places unless you want to see the triops version of the hunger games one thing I know for certain is that the containers that come in kits are not big enough for them.
Worlds smallest jail for fish...
Some companies would advertise it as a betta fish tank lol
That was pretty cool, in a month’s time going from eggs to Parents giving birth to live babies. Amazing.😎👍
2:07 MOUNTAIN DEW?
Haha I put a small light behind the algae to make it more visible. It definitely does light up like Mountain Dew though 😂
Dude that’s awesome
love this and it's great that you are an expert but is this ethical? is growing sea monkeys through a kit good for them? I have always had this question.
Yes this is ethical, although not recommended because the water would evaporate really fast making it easier to kill them. :( Growing them through the kit is good for them, but giving them some extra things can help them grow even better and they will be even happier. :>
This just showed up in my recommendation your content is so good
Cheers mate! Really appreciate that. I'm still quite new to this whole UA-cam thing, but trying to improve with every video. Glad you're enjoying the content :)
@@pico-cosmos youtube is recommending your content mate I wish and pray for your channel"s growth
How do you have the smallest aquarium for sea monkeys they look gorgeous, hopefully, one day you can make a website for people to buy stuff like the smallest aquarium that you ha e in the video!
Average Goldfish bowl:
I'm now wondering, is there ANY creature that could live well and thrive in such a tiny aquarium?
Wow! nice experiment! i have a question ;)
How can sea monkey normally feed themselves (after the first days) if the content of the 2 bags is just salt and eggs? (I'm assuming normal people don't own a "algae farm" ready to be fed to their sea monkeys
Poor fish cuz they don’t deserve something that small
Me:Mom Let’s but this Aquarium
Mom:We have an aquarium at home
The Aquarium at home:
I hate how they probably get bored to-death in that small thing
Its cruel
They don't have emotions/sense of having fun
They have the same brain as a bacteria
@@BurbIndustrieswell how did I Liitally train my fish to follow my finger?
@@Alienfrommars613 because brine shrimps are not fish. They follow light and that's it. Fish have brain and are intelligent (kinda). Brine shrimps/sea monkeys are not.
