It was just that Brian being older had more training and control in the use of the voice than Nick and of course, Nick still sounded like a kid and Brian like a young man. AJ's voice was even deep when he was a teenager. Howie's voice was still the highest of the older guys ( Nick was too young to compare his voice to Howie since his voice was still developing). Kevin never did anything to make his voice as noticable as everyone else, but of course he can sing well.
When talking about Kevin, I don't mean the talking portion of a song....this is still not standing out to me- it is sexy, but doesn't make his singing voice stand out. I guess Kevin never wanted to be a lead or maybe the record company didn't want him because he was 22 - 23 years old at the time and that was too old for teenage girls to be looking up to and screaming over. And you know whoever the lead singer is will be screamed at by millions of girls. 😂
