Treetop Cat Rescue: Professional tree trimmer climbs trees to save cats in Northeast Ohio

Heroes come in all forms, and in the world of animal welfare, one champion wears a safety harness and always keeps cans of tuna fish on hand.
Angelo Ciammaichella, a professional tree trimmer and family man, spends his free time answering desperate calls from pet owners whose cats are stuck in trees. What started as a one-time favor has grown into a vital service across Northeast Ohio.
Two years ago, Ciammaichella was scrolling through Facebook when he saw a plea from a pet owner. Their cat was trapped in a tree, and no one had come to help.
"I'm on Facebook and see a post that a cat is stuck in a tree," Ciammaichella said. "To be honest, like most people, I ignored it. Then another day goes by, and I look on Facebook, and the same post is up. They're still looking for help, and the fire department can't help. Alright, so I went and drove out to help them."
That one act of kindness was just the beginning.
