Pessimism and anger towards the federal government is at an all-time high, according to new Nanos tracking.

What has Pierre done for Canadians? While part of the Harper govt as housing minister rents and mortgages were a third of what they are now; budget was balanced; low unemployment; our dollar at par with the USD; Canada thrived during the recession of 2008; our military was strong; we were respected internationally; business thrived; and a host of other things that he helped to make Canada respectable.

What I find astounding is how 21% are satisfied or optimistic. That's insane. It should be close to zero.
I would say that 21% of the population receive an inflation indexed pay check and/or pension from the government. That explains everything. For them, a government that can tax at will guarantees their own personal financial well-being (at least in the short term).

Capital gains biggest effect is on farmers and small business who worked 40 years to build a nest egg only to see to snatched away when they sell and retire. Divide the amount of capital gain over the 40 years it took to earn it and many of the "rich" earned less than government parasite workers.

The Cap-Gains tax increase on CCPC's is devastating. Taking money out of small business savings (mostly for retirement) to fund out of control spending by an incompetent government is devastating.
Its the $53 billion in new spending that is ridiculous when we they need to cut back before a recession. Doesnt matter that deficit amount is reduced by new taxes.
I suspect that they wont' get the revenue they are expecting with the new taxes. It's harsh, and I'm certainly going to be counting my pennies even more.
