Great Review. I'm a 41 year old Dad of 2 and I did the same. Console gamer all my life and one say I got tired of paying PS, Xbox and Nintendo for Online. I decided to screw it I'm gonna go PC but handheld. Bought a steam deck a year ago and quite frankly that was the best decision I've ever done.
Yeah it’s a fantastic way to keep gaming whilst being a Dad as you squeeze gaming sessions in anywhere rather than just the tv! Appreciate you watching thank you 🙏
Just the review I was looking for. I've been considering the ally for a while but all the reviews I found were just specs specs specs and more specs. Keep it up!
Absolutely agree on the colour, my OCD would go mad keeping that clean and it’s the main reason why I haven’t bought one yet. Hoping next iteration has alternative colurs
i love my rog ally, and when its plugged into my 30000watt battery bank i get hours of play. also my sd card slot malfunctioned so i installed 2 tb hdd
if your not techy enough and tired of searching go for switch and deck but if you want more games even early mmorpg wanted to go beyond boundaries go for ally
Luke have just this past week purchased one from j lewis Only ever had a nintendo May I ask how do you pause and re-start a game like you can on the nintendo which is so easy I'm really struggling on this having to literally close the console down Thanks
Nice how you liking it so far? To be honest the Rog Ally doesn’t do pause and restart very well, the steam deck is far more reliable for that. A few people have said the putting the device into hibernate mode which works better.
so how do you put it in hibernate mode? and is that what you do? amazed nobody has done a video on this .to be honest yes it good but this is getting down@@LukeTechReviews
If you aren't adept at doing your own electronic repairs, I'd say NO, given it's $170 USD just for a replacement LCD panel. and the fall that cracked the screen may have well damaged one of the joysticks and/or triggers/shoulder buttons. If you are comfortable at electronic repairs and/or using it exclusively in a dock, Go For It. Godspeed.
I have an insurance called Asurion. They most of your household devices. I’d like into it. I went to fix my girls laptop screen because it broke. Mac book pro. Bought the insurance and cost a lot less to fix. I’ve sent in ps5 remote that developed drift. They fixed for no money Anyways I hope this helps you
Yup. I prefer Steamdeck (have both at the moment) cause Valve really did their job well - playing Hogwarts Legacy at 40 fps at 10W of power really defines what portable handheld is (ROG requires like 17 W or more). ROG ally is way more power hungry which kinda ruins the whole purpose for me - more future proof with some headroom, yeah, but at a cost of even shorter battery life.

Yeah strange there is no other choices. You can add a skin / case but hopefully with the second gen there are more colour options!
It would be interesting to see a review of the "matte" version of this glass! Thank`s!
I no longer have the device unfortunately but appreciate your support 🙏
Great video man. Godbless!
Thank you 🙏

Yeah it’s a fantastic device 👍
Thanks for the review! I recommend “In Sound Mind”, bioshock, Borderlands 2, and the last of us. Happy gaming!
Ah fantastic thanks for the recommendations!😊
Great review. I’m going to be buying the ally soon.
Thank you 🙏 It’s a fantastic device 👌

I never tried it but only owned it for a few months before switching to the Steam Deck Oled instead
Great video Luke, keep going brother.
Thank you 🙏
Should I buy a cracked rog ally for 120 and pay to fix it is it worth it ?

Great video mate, definitely prefer the Steam Deck
Thanks mate!👊 Yeah the Steam Deck is definitely more of a ‘Gaming Console’ than PC like the Ally is
I have both and I prefer the Ally it’s more powerful and can play anything
@ESTENT-cu7qd Good choice if that’s your preference 👍

Yep totally agree 👍 Testing both the Steam Deck is my favourite as the battery life and quick resume are so good
It literally just came out.
The ROG Ally released 8 months ago
Huh?
The rog ally 2 is releasing this year the rog ally did not just come out 😂😂😂
Yeah think he’s a bit confused 🫤
No. No it didn't ..
