I was to this day skeptical when you said you can do "literally anything" with ace I am now entirely convinced that statement is true after seeing FrankerZ on the B button in Ocarina of time Great job on the run, it might now be my favourite Run + exhibition I've ever seen during any gdq ever.
@@romajimamulo I found 2 amazing uses of ACE from gdq's but i don't think it's quite what he mentioned. Also not entirely sure if "twitch chat in super mario world" is what I think it is, cause it sounds to me it'd be the literal chat of gdq inside of mario maker which sounds wrong.
Arbitrary Code Execution literally means that you're rewriting the code of the game being run by the console. Anything possible on a computer can be done with these style of glitches.
Hard to actually understand if your comment is meant to be ironic, but you don't think literally writing code inside a video game THROUGH BUTTON INPUTS and only using the controller is not in any way interesting? How did you even stumble upon this video, it's so clearly not for you. And just because you saw something using a gameshark (which takes no skill or effort whatsoever) does in no way invalidate the efforts runners have put in to this game to do these glitches only using IN-GAME mechanics. You do realise that right? Listen man, i'm sorry if you had bad parenting or a tough childhood, but your overblown reaction is incredibly inappropriate.
@Carl Glennerster I don't think you quite understand how cool what they did with arbitrary code execution is. They didn't pull the file of that emote from somewhere else. It was made in-game with actual controller inputs.
@Carl Glennerster Alright, go watch a glitchless run then instead of complaining on a video titled "Glitch Exhibition" because it's not something that you're interested in
@Carl Glennerster It's not nice to harass someone just because you disagree with them. It's also not nice to attack them for having their own opinion. Maximus was even trying to be nice to you and still insisted on being rude. The nerve of people like you. Calm down.
What's interesting to note about that glitch involving opening a chest and dying at the same time is it was actually discovered in Majora's Mask 3D a couple of years ago. It was also discovered in a different way; one would open the chest at the same time the cutscene for awakening the turtle with New Wave Bossa Nova played. I never knew you could zombie hover with it though.
You should be able to code just about anything that will fit in your payload. There are limitations but they mostly have to do with the game engine and ACE exploit.
@@ThegodisAbraxas I'm gonna go get some sunshine, but I also wana die at the same time. xD Ok now jokes aside sorry if it offended some, it's just for jokes. xP
Ok now i'm convinced OoT actors can and will do anything. As soon as machine learning gets wind of this OoT will not only be able to rewrite itself but also turn into AI that can automate just about everything and even be its own programming language thereby overcome its limits and grow in an infinite exponential loop.
So could we use ACE to assist in reverse-engineering and disassembling OoT's code? Since you can use it to write in new code I'd imagine it gives us further insight as to how OoT ticks, yeah?
Nothing more than regular reverse engineering could, I'm afraid, if that. The only reason this was possible was because we already know enough about this game's code to manipulate it in such ways.
We can already look at the "code" by dumping the ROM. (ACE doesn't let you manipulate "code" as in C code, which is what OoT was written in, but instead the MIPS processor instructions that it was compiled into.)

Missed opportunity to say "anywaaayyy" in the end. But that exhibition was awesome though!!
glitch 1: making twinrova respawn
glitch 2: zombie hover
glitch 3: rewriting the games code to feature meme items using only the original oot game.
That escalated quickly.
The crowd in this was really great. Legit sounded like a sitcom laughtrack
And with this glitch, it has been discovered that OOT is Turing complete. Now go make a computer inside OOT.

The crowd makes it sound like an AGDQ sitcom 😂

A man of culture
He meant he didnt know how to nav N64s GZ not he dont know how to play on N64 lol
It's one of those things where you just laugh and go on watching, has something to do with humor
Why does ZFG sound lively here? Did someone spike his drink with something? I want answers!
