@user-xr7ci8tf3e “whataboutism” is never a good argument. Both of these individuals acted inappropriately with minors - no one gets a pass because “hurt people hurt people”. A lot of hurt people DON’T hurt others.
Also, if Jojo wants the Drake Bell treatment, then she should do what he did: take legal accountability, acknowledge that what was done was wrong, remove herself from situations where she works with gr00mers and children, and then be transparent about the events that led up to the behavior. What Drake did was not okay, but he also doesn’t work with children anymore and doesn’t target a teen audience. By all accounts, he behaves like someone that made a singular bad choice in earnest, and is doing his best to rectify.
We don’t see Jojo as a victim in recovery because she doesn’t see anything wrong with how she was brought up and is willing to do the same to others. In contrast, she silences victims, defends gr00mers, and nearly killed a teen girl on the set of a show where she was systematically abusing a whole group of teen girls. She also has a massive ego, targets minors as an entertainer, and shows no signs of stopping the criticized behavior.
Hurt people hurt people. Nothing she did was acceptable or excusable, that much is true. But I think what she needs is therapy, and for someone in her life to show her true kindness. She really grew up with nothing. Fame? Yes. But abuse? Also yes. Growing up famous and abused is a recipe for disaster that only few can walk away from relatively unscathed. Just look at Jennie McCarthy; she's been healing ever since her abusive mother died, and has given up acting. She traded the fame for healing. JoJo thinks she needs the fame; you can tell by the way she keeps trying so hard to promote Karma nonstop. This is not JoJo's fault considering she was groomed to think THIS is how her life should be.
She needs help, not hate. She also needs to be held accountable for her actions, obviously. But I'm really sick of people pretending like THAT is who she really is. Somewhere in her is that nice kid who just wanted to dance.

Obviously this wouldn't be an excuse for any of that but part of me wonders if her....tolerance for openly predatory assholes is a result of essentially being raised on reality TV/the entertainment industry. I got drunk at epcot and locked myself in a stall in the Mexican restaurant to barf continuously into the toilet until a sweet woman who worked there (who I am eternally sorry to) came in and told me to leave. My friend then held me upright until we got to the tram and before we boarded he leaned in and said in my ear, "if you throw up on this tram, I will never talk to you again" I closed my eyes and focused harder than I ever had and somehow made it. LMAO

She did abuse others, as most survivors do (surprise surprise, the data we’ve had since the 1800s about the cycles of abuse wasn’t actually lying), and that’s obviously not okay. This stuff can and does happen to literally any given human being born into the right conditions for it.

Now I'm almost 21 and completely sober and Jojo Siwa is trying to be a bad girl when she's scared to swear and waited until she turned 21 to start drinking 😂

See like, I dont wish her ill will necessarily, but I do not support/like her bc she continued the line of abuse. Regardless of what you go through you're still responsible for your actions, especially as a legal adult. I say legally bc lets be real, she's going through her teen years in her 20s. Which makes sense for someone with trauma. Hopefully she can actually mature over time and apologize, be better, etc.

I‘m from Germany where people start drinking very early in their teens (not everyone but you can get alcohol quite easily) and tbh, she’s every 15-year-old trying to be super cool while getting their first and last tequila story (not trying to be mean about the drinking age in the US, I just don’t have another comparison). Her former image would’ve never allowed her to be known as someone who drinks underage so I understand why she’s going hard now in the open (not saying she did or didn’t drink before, no idea obviously). What I don’t understand is why her idiotic Momager is still pushing the narrative that’s clearly not working and lets her post those drunk vids. Dude, first rule, if you’re this drunk, you will do dumb shit with your phone and if you’re Jojo Siwa, maybe do yourself the favor and put the phone away for once. At this point I would’ve taken her phone because next thing she would do is invite one of her exes on her podcast. A lot of us were at her point and I can understand how exciting it is to finally legally drink but looking back, we mostly cringe about the way we acted. Not to repeat what everyone iss saying, but people dislike her for repeating the cycle of abuse. She worked a kid with spina bifida to the point they started bleeding and just said "lol get over it" and was just generally cruel to the kids she worked with. Not to mention she has repeatedly defended groomers.
Me and a lot of other people are upset because as soon as some of her victims have spoken out against her actions, she started this probably ingenuine rebrand. It's almost definitely a stunt move to try and deflect criticism, and it's really upsetting.
I think Jojo can turn around from all this; she can acknowledge she is continuing the abusive cycle and apologize to people she's hurt and distance herself from the sketchy folks she hangs out with. But this rebrand by itself just ain't it chief

I just want to say I don't have an opinion of Jojo one way or another, but she's at Disney World's Epcot which is more for adults than children as far as Disney parks go. It's known for drinking. They have pavilions for different countries, and you do something like a "bar crawl" to "drink around the world" so it's not that weird she's getting smashed there. It's literally full of adults getting sloppy drunk and being loud. It's nothin g like Disneyland or the Magic Kingdom.

I don’t feel like you touched on any of the things that people are seriously hating on Jojo for, though. My family and I own a few cottages and we are always hanging out, having casual drinks. We never get stupid but the “craziest” it gets is us sitting around a room and singing along to songs and whatnot. Getting drunk and stoned with the people you love lol very wholesome
