The thing that really pissed me off was that the cataclysmic tsunami that was supposed to engulf all islands there and even reach other continents didn't do much at all, for example it picked up a whole cargo ship but didn't turn the airplane into rubble just because of the stupid plot armour of the people inside, NO one would survive that.
I can understand you feeling that way. I liked it quite a bit up until the last episode. They made some mistakes with the plot armor but in my opinion one bad choice doesn’t cancel out all the good that the show had up until that point. I certainly rolled my eyes though.
I know a lot of people feel that way haha. I agree season 8 was a let down but it didn’t burn all the goodwill and love I had for it. Honestly it’s weird to me how quickly people can turn on something. It’s gotta make watching stuff a little less fun if your joy can be ruined so easily.
Just finished watching it. I really got pulled in with the opening scene on the glass bottom boat. Plus, I closely followed the story (still going on) of the Whakaari Island, NZ, explosion of 2019 and its aftermath. And, of course, the Ache tsunami of 2004. The ending pulled out all the science they had worked into the story so carefully to make it believable. Your criticism, and other’s, is exactly right. Spend the time needed with the script to make what is believable coherent with the rest of the plot. Deus ex machina shouldn’t be allowed.
I would have been okay with the daughter not surviving for putting her family at risk because of some random girl. The whole gay relationship in a disaster TV Series wasn't necessary. Plus the plane got covered by a tsunami and was still upright and not totally destroyed. Really? That ruined the ending.
I was agreeing you until you mentioned having an issue with a gay relationship….thats not inherently a problem, if she had been dating a guy it wouldn’t have made her choices any less puzzling. The issue with her is an insane amount of plot armor.
@ShowtimeandJoysticks Not everything has to have gay relationships involved. TV commercials, movies, TV shows and series. Even Disney movies and shows. If that's the choice kids will make when they're older, I'm okay with that. There's no need to spoon feed it to the kids and younger generation.
Not everything needs straight relationships either and yet that’s been mostly the norm for decades in film. Luckily people can’t be swayed into feeling one way or another. Sexuality is not a choice.
That was annoying. She really put her family at risk. And no one on the plane should have survived. They had to be under that water for longer than you can go without oxygen lol
Couldn’t agree more with your video! Very nice review!!! Great effects, acting, plot, pace… [spoiler alert] But the plane thing was just wtfffff Of course I was still happy to see them all reunited because I was surprisingly very attached to them in very few episodes hahaha But it felt wrong. As a scientist I was super happy about how everything was going, until this part 🤷♂️

Yea I agree. That’s the scene I’m referring to in my review. It was quite silly.
I enjoyed the series a lot right up until the plane at the end.Come on! Without plot armour no one is surviving that
I agree with you.
The plot armor in this series is unmatched. The family gets the plot armor of the year award.
Show was a complete letdown with the plot armor of the daughter

@@ShowtimeandJoysticks I definitely hear you! A bad decision at the end of a series however can affect the whole show (see Game of Thrones 😂)

Thanks man. It had a lot going for it until that part.
What did you watch
The show I reviewed. This isn’t a very helpful or illuminating comment. Did you like the show or not?
