Let’s be honest, this scene scared all of us when we were kids
As well as adults. It creeped me out. Not as much as the gas mask one, but it's up there.
It just reminded me of Sapphire and Steel, the one with the faceless man who is in every photo ever t -
oh never mind
I’ve never really been scared of doctor who.
Nope!
Children, eh? I was, what in my middle twenties when that came out. Cheers.
The thing that scared me was the fact we never knew what the actual creature looked like, and the fact that the creature could have been in anyone's TV and we wouldn't know!
This is the weirdest episode if taken out of context
Y?
‘hUngRy QuEeN’ sTucK iN tV BoX?!
What context?
If you don’t know the plot or have never watched dw and watch this just seeing a women on telly screaming HUNGRY FEED MEEEEE you would just switch of the TV
I wish David Tennant had recorded one of those don't forget to subscribe etc. Even 4th has one.
Colin’s is my favourite
Don't forget to subsribe! Don't even forget to subscribe. Forget to subscribe and you're dead!
He has now
I forgot how strange 10's hair looked in this episode
Well to be fair he thought he was gonna see Elvis
This episode was so weird and creepy. I loved it
Can we just take a moment to look at David’s/The Doctors hair! From all sticky uppy to combed back
This episode Is so underrated
It is literally my least favourite episode in the RTD era. It has no atmosphere at all, the dialogue is completely broken and Tennant is really arrogant in this. I mean, look at his hair and the way he yells about saving rose. Also the ending doesn't make much sense- if the villain ate their faces, how come they just sprout back to life because the wire is now on a tape.
There is a difference between underrated and bad
Agreed
@@hgwsavage well it attacked Rose the main companion would they really kill a companion off mid series?
Its weak but ok. The wire is abit OTT though. It’s better than Fear Her.
This episode was so weird
But I loved it
That was some messed up episode.
All I heard was
“FeEd mE!”
*”Feed me, Seymour! Feed me!”*
"The wire is hungry" Is she? I didn´t notice...
Just misread that as 'the wife is hungry'
@@dseray9494 oh man that would be dark lol
HUUNNGGRRYYYYYYYY
THIS ONES TASTY!
only real OGs remember her as the grandma from the BT adverts
With an ology
hgwells 1899 and pottery XD
And she’s in Coronation Street now anyways.
I think there should be a second episode of the wire.
Ye sameeeeeeeeeeee
I'm hungry for more!
@@f1since08 HUNGRYYYYYY!
But what would the story be. The wire got trapped but the story would be just like this if the wire escaped.
NO
This would be better if it was the reintroduction of the great intelligence
Fortunately, Bells of a Saint John is basically this same concept executed better, and that IS the Great Intelligence
@@heatherrockwell9012 except the great intelligence didn't scream I'm hungry a stupid amount of time
VERY underrated episode. It is an example of a classic Doctor Who story. Goes down as one of my favorites.
GoOoOOd LOOorD CoOLoURd TelEvIsiON
The Doctor could probably have destroyed her easily with his sonic
Why do you think she stopped as soon as she saw he had it?
probably would’ve killed her...it.
The doctor doesn’t kill
@@TheOriginalEwan Well, he'd have done it if she hadn't stopped. He certainly will kill if he needs to. But he'd rather help people.
@@TheOriginalEwan "The doctor doesn’t kill"
Are you sure about that?
ua-cam.com/video/lzmnPs64K74/v-deo.html
Whatever.
Love the scene where the Doctor is being interrogated and he turns it around, rises to the occasion, puts the D.I. in his place...also, the kid in this ep. plays a certain young psychopath in I, Davros, Big Finish fans
Any time someone says they're hungry, this goes through my mind
Great villian and underrated episode
"Oh my god, it's her, the woman off the telly"
"Good lord, colour television"
"Doctor, the Coronation!"
And the winner for best acting goes to... To be fair, I don't think science-fiction works for his kind of performance, he's more suited to dramas like Midsummer Murders rather than a side character in Doctor Who.
I actually think it works - it helps emphasise that Bishop is well and truly "out of his element"...
Underrated brilliant story
Couldn't agree less
hgwsavage same
At last. It's taking me five years, but I can now understand this without subtitles!
And I am realising that Magpie isn't just the name of the store, now, is it ?
It's a bird's name. The one which steals. How very interesting.
No one...
Not any timelord....
0:03 The Doctor licks it.
The doctor has licked a lot of things
Tomato_Boi Too true
I watched this episode about 10 times now and this scene is the best
This was the first episode of new who I ever watched. So this one will always have a special place in my heart.
This episode was pretty decent. Nothing too special, just a charmingly fun little diddle. That's all an episode needs to be sometimes. Plus, it's definitely one of the better things Mark Gatiss has wrote for Who. (Reminder that Gatiss also wrote Night Terrors, Robot of Sherwood, and Sleep No More, which were all abysmal)
3:51 When you smell what's cooking for dinner
😂😂😂 Perfect.
Thisbis literally my kids when I have to make dinner
Feed me, Seymour
Maureen Lipman survived and became Evelyn from Coronation Street.
I’m so glad! 🤣
This is my first 10th episode of all time. I watched it dubbed in korean, and the horror.....the horror of wire, those faceless ones....just bursted out through the screen.
In all that 40(or 45) minutes of horror, I couldn't move a finger. I almost cried when I watched millions of people being gobbled up by wire(Well, I was a kid. What do you expect?)
Anyway, Good to watch this Episode.
2020 is a good year to bring the wire back, actually. Think about it, we're all locked up at home, speaking through each other through video chat. Hosts enough for the wire to inhabit.
I'd love to see clever Magpie references continue in future Who. I really enjoy the Wire she freaks me out quite honestly.
His hair here seriously makes me question my sexuality
It’s astonishing
LOVED THIS EPISODE!!! HUNGRY!!!!
This was the golden age of doctor who
10th: the villain is a TV
11th: the villain is WiFi
And the actor of Tommy in this episode later went on to voice a young Davros in 'I, Davros - Innocence' by Big Finish.
This is probably the 10th Doctor's most gelled up hair style.
Hungryyyyyyy
Hungryyyy
FEEED MEEEE

I’ll have lAShinGs of hIM!
My favorite episode of Series 2!
This was my first episode of Doctor Who I ever watched. Now I have the urge to watch it again...
I’d love The Wire, or at least something of it’s species to return
This is possibly my favourite episode of doctor who ever
3rd least favourite
It is a great episode but it's not that good in my opinion.
A Good Man Goes to War is my favourite episode BTW
@@karpad4072 Mines always been The Satan Pit, but upon rewatch it may be Waters of Mars. The last scene is easily the best in the shows history (maybe The Massacre speech is better) since I just love how disgusting the doctors power is shown to be.
Favourite in S6 is The Impossible Astronaut- literally name one flaw. It's the perfect mellow drama.
I think I just like it because it doesn't have any real connection to the timeline, no one leaves no one dies, it's david tennant and rose and I like the retro feel and costumes. I can understand why people don't like that though
@@hannah.6259 I'm very sensitive to atmosphere/ tone, more than most. When you look at my first thought criticisms/ praises for episodes, it's almost always this. Why don't I like genesis? Dull and uncreative atmosphere. Why do I quite like Kinda? Brilliant sets and atmosphere. I'm not sure if you would agree, but I find this episode has a pretty bad atmosphere (and some wonky dialogue), which most people just wouldn't care about, and only see what is factually happening: a pretty decent story. I'm weird in that that isn't as big a factor for me.
Nobody 👏Cares👏if👏you👏are👏first

There will be no foolish first comments or silly memes in this class.
What is that mysterious ticking noise?
It's kind of catchy...

FEED ME!
Is that kid Rory from the kick off? (True geordie and loz)
the iidiots lantern is so underrated ( i love it 🐱😁 ) they should do another episoden with the wire because it is such an underrated villian.
Seeing this normally grainy era of the series in HD is ever so unsettling in my opinion
Maureen Lipman is a national treasure
3:51 there's always one annoying person who says this at the dinner table.
If you can't work out who it is or eat alone, it's probably you...
True fact this episode is based around my grandad time when he had the first one and he would alow people to wach it aslong they paid thanks doctor who for making the history more fun 😀
The Wires origin story has tonnes of parallels to that of the Time Wyrm
one of those episodes I will never talk about.
Теннант красавчик
I was in love with tommy when I was younger lol
I still don’t understand why people hate this episode… It was a fun and interesting one. Very new.
The ending is pretty controversial, as the teen Tommy forgives his abusive father after encouragement from the Doctor and Rose. That is a pretty controversial message, especially given how bad he was portrayed throughout. Otherwise, it's considered an average episode.
Oh, I wish Wire returns one day.
FEEEEED MEEEEEE
hUnGrY😂😂 ngl I kinda liked this episode but it is a VERY weird concept😂😂
This episode has a important message don't watch too much TV cos you'll be glued to the screen 📺📺📺📺📺
Plus lose your identity and become a zombie who is easily manipulated...screens, pfft
This episode traumatised me
josuke hair
Wish we could go back

Season two is gutted but there’s a couple episodes that aren’t bad like loving monsters andThe girl in the fireplace
3:51 me when I’m hungry
Strange? Classic quiff
That's her fae Corrie!
Only the reason why so many people don't like this episode is that David Tennant doesn't have quite enough gel in his hair
May 27 is when this premiered
HUUUUUUUNGRRRRYYYYYYYYY

But this wasn’t even that good of an episode take off your nostalgia glasses
@@icantthinkofagoodusername4575 It's a million times better than the woke trash Chibnall has put out in series 11 and 12.

MOTHER!
I KNEW I RECOGNIZED HIS FACE I KNEW IT!!!!!
AND SOPHIA MYLES WAS MADAME DE POMPADOUR! Britain has 12 actors, and just shuttles them around,
My theory: The Wire is a Time Lord (or Time Lady whichever you prefer to call her) and that her “fellow kind” (The Time Lords) denied her a new body because she was on her twelfth regeneration. Her mind somehow survived and escaped and by absorbing human souls she can gain a new body.
Oh I really like that! The Master is known to be hypnotic, and this is definitely in the same vein (literally gluing it's victims to the screen).
I wish she would stop saying flipping hungry😂
Personally I've always found "The Wire" a stupid, cheesy character, but I accept that this was the intention by Gatiss and still have a lot of nostalgia for this episode.

Maureen Lipman is so beautiful in this episode, it made me re watch Agony ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤👍👍❤❤❤❤❤❤👍👍👍❤❤❤❤❤❤👍
Oh yes
Oh, i remember this episode. It was strange.
I'm watching on a portable television 😅😅
Best epizode
Who was that woman that take all the peoples faces it was creepy or was something weard.
Is that elvling plumer out of Corrie
3:48 worst shot of the show. Very specific, I know, but it really gets under my skin. _I hate a dutch angle!_
Dutch angles are effective if used correctly, however they so rarely are, and that shot has no need for one. It'd just another action shot that the audience shouldn't need to think about.
@@orsonlepherd7064 - they're the most ugly, visually unpleasing, student-esque shots. They can be bloody brilliant when thought goes into them though.
@@nightowl8477 yeah absolutely. I think that they've become more of a gimmick for students and amateurs to fall back on.
Omg shes in corrinasion street 😯
Who is the wire
A creature denied of a corporeal form by it's kind, it attempted to forge it's own by harvesting the faces of thousands of people watching Queen Elizabeth's coronation. It was able to possess digital images (like the one seen in this video) and overwrite the motor functions of it's victims (as seen when Ten gets locked in a cage with the faceless people).
Not gonna lie, I I'm not the biggest fan of this episode. I don't hate it (I don't hate any episode) - it's an enjoyable watch however the Wire gets on my nerves.
What series?
Series 2
@@bengale9398 And the season?
It’s season 2/series 2

This and 42 are probably the most forgettable 10 episodes
Especially for me: as a kid I watched all of S2 on DVD (to young to watch it live) and loved it, but somehow cannot remember this one at all. Then, when I rewatched DW a few years later, I somehow managed to... Just skip this one? Literally no idea how it happened, just scrolled through a list of episodes half way through S9 and noticed it.

roblox game doctor who by keyboarder
One of my most disliked episodes
I hope the wire sucks up the doctor, Ryan and Yaz, so Graham could take control and maybe earn some respect. Maybe the wire could return in an episode set in present-day earth and sucks everyone's faces since everyone is on their phones and screens.
Edit:
Wire: I'm the Wire.
Ryan: What's that?
Wire: I'm gonna eat you up.
The Doctor: You can't because the last time you were here you surrendered due to my sonic. (The 13th doctor scans the sonic)
Wire sucks the doctor's face.
Yaz: What's wrong with you. (get her face sucked)
Ryan screams and shuts up by getting his face sucks.
Quickly Graham breaks the scanner. The Electric lines spread everywhere sucks people's faces from their TVs, laptops, computers and phones.
To be continued.
Spoilers: Graham time travels and stops the invention of the TV.
Or maybe if you dont like new-who stop talking about it enjoy the vidoe with out bringing it up.
Really disliked this one tbh. Direction is *not* good here
