You are cranking out so many (great) videos that if a day goes by without one it feels empty! This adds to the list, though in your intro I hadn’t realized just how slow life is in Toronto.

I love my 7 Artisans and TT Artisans lenses for A6400, but downside is that after year of use need very often to tighten screws at the back of the lens

I recall f-stops is ratio between focal lens and diameter. Different 1.8 lenses could have different t.stops for example

Nice. These look like very handsome lenses. Thankfully, as a Sony camera owner I can use the Lens Compensation in Catalyst Browse to fix the breathing from those two lenses.
Catalyst Browse won't wont with the manual lenses. Catalyst Prepare lets you manually control the focus breathing compensation - but I'm not sure it works on manual
Cheers Mark. No lenses are perfect and it’s the imperfections us cinematographers actually see as the benefits a lot of the time. It’s called character.
I've got the Vision 35 and can say the build quality is amazing. They may be be a little heavier than needed but better overbuilt than under built. For the FX-30 I can see the value in the wider angles that they sent to you. They do feel like a premium lens and the optics are pretty darn good. CA is a bit of a problem wide open and breathing is an issue like you mentioned but overall they are darn good for the money. Now if I can just learn to manual focus 🙂

So many of the budget cinema lenses seem to be cosmetic re-housing of existing photo lenses. Usually if a cinema lens costs less than renting a top class lens then you might as well use your photo lens.
It’s a fair point, and I think these might be doing that - but you still get the build quality and, fears and filter thread size. - it depends on if you need that stuff!!

Very nice. The lens are a little soft. Not mushy or nasty soft. More like s-cinetone look in SLOG3 soft. But I kind of like

I know that the lenses from this brand don't have autofocus but also know that they offer an adapter for autofocus. ...so the thing is can I use one of their lens and give it autofocus with the adapter?

Should I get the 12mm T2.9and 35mm T1.05 for my little Zve10? and does the lens have focus breathing? or should i stick with the non-cine 7artisan lenses for cine purposes?😂

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this, I do have a question..i was very intrigued by the 12mm t2.9, im a musician wants to make youtube/IG videos and loved the cinematic look of these lens, so I was thinking of going with the 12mm instead of something like the sigma 16mm , would you suggest this sort of approach?
If you like full control and manually focusing it can be a great option to give you more of the look and feel of a more filmic production.
Does it make sense to use the 25mm T1.05 for self shooting Videos in a controlled environment? How hard is it to manual focus if I am only recording head shots?
Was that footage handheld at all? I’m loving how the footage looked. The colors were stunning it made Canada look so appealing I’ve only gone to Windsor right over the border from Detroit where I like, but Toronto seems more exciting
almost all the beach stuff was handheld. the scenes in the city were on a tripod.

if you use S&Q mode, you can see the clip play back in slow motion on the camera. if you use 120fps, it won’t look slowed down because you have to do it in post.

How would you compare 7Artisans 12mm T2.9 to the Sony SEL 16-50mm f/3.5-5.6 angle wise? Is the difference significant. I'm looking for a budget wide lens for the Sony ZV e10.

You need to fix the link for the 25mm as it took me to one that was specifically for M 4/3 and you filmed everything on Sony e mount so some unfortunate soul may not see that and buy it only to get the wrong mount system 😕 I know making money off your affiliate links is vital to you but make sure your sending your audience in the right direction :T
they make it for a bunch of mounts. Amazon may have defaulted to the micro 4/3l I’ll see if I can change that
Can you review budget zoom lenses? Tele-lenses or fixed ones with like 500mm or something

at :50 this is one of Many problems I have with this camera. its the gen 4 red channel problem blackmagic had in the 4k cameras. I created a out to tame the reds but it took some finessing. also 1:38 banding and color breaking in the sky is another issue I have. it falls apart with very little pushing at times.
the dynamic range on the fx30 isn’t the best
The FX30 impresses me every time I see footage from it.
Do you know if the catalyst browse can correct the rolling shutter wobble? I heard someone mention it somewhere, but couldn't see how that was possible. Just thought I'd ask since you have one ;)

Yes, catalyst browse will correct rolling shutter. The gyro data can fix the wobble. You can’t use it with these lenses however because they are manual lenses
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis Ah ok I didnt realize that, I didnt think the gyro data relied on the lens. What happens exactly when you use a manual lens? Does it just automatically not record the gyro data? I would love to buy the FX30 to save some money haha, but because I want to do VFX stuff with accurate camera tracking I just can't 😢

Once again Mark, I am looking for something and you post a video about it! Our timing has been in sync all year. I was considering pulling the trigger on the 50mm F/1.05 full frame for my FX-30 because it has such better reviews on amazon than the cine 25mm T1.05 that received poor reviews. After seeing your little video at the beginning I'm realizing that the 50mm full frame on the APS-C will be far too tight and I think I'll just look at their APS-C line. Do you have much experience with those (the ones that are not specifically in their "cine" lineup?) I really want something that can really open up for low-light situations.
I like 7Artisans generally. I have tried a couple of their 1.4 manual lenses and they’re great value for the money. Not sharp corner to corner or perfect in every way - but for real world shooting, it’ll do a great job

It says payment option (paypal and credit card) in two ways, which I have to use one of them, as I am ordering this product from India will the product arrive safely? There is only email facility to contact them so is it safe for me to buy?
7artidans are a reputable company - you should not have an issue ordering from their site

You definitely can - but you have to be comfortable manually focusing.

It's just black bars to emulate the widescreen look.

Look very similar like my SLR Magic Cine. My 35mm F1.2 Full Frame lens I bought for 120£, but these 7 Artisans much more expensive 😑

6:15 look pretty much like all 7 artisans lenses, colours and overall video look the same.
They probably are rehoused photo lenses, but their colour is consistent, the light is in t-stops and the metal build with the teeth are good for cinema rigs. So they still serve the purpose without being “full cinema lenses”
