The Mysterious Case of the Ancient Beaver Burrow

We want to extend our thanks to Calvert Broadcast for their engaging video about our recent discovery!
Staff and volunteers from the Calvert Marine Museum made every attempt to explore an ancient beaver burrow along the banks of the Potomac River. No human, sewer snake or small drone could get a clear view of the inside, but it's still a fascinating and mysterious feature in the ancient riverbed. Based on the behavior of present-day beavers, it's not far to "bank" on the idea that there may be more than one room in the same area within the cliff. Time will tell if humans get to explore more of the burrow in the future!
