- Why Waltham?
Why make your home in Waltham?
Maybe for some of the same reasons
that Christopher and Rebecca Gore
bought 400 acres here in 1786
for what would become their farm in Waltham
and their country estate.
In 1935 a group of concerned Bostonians
bought the house and property at auction
to save it from the wrecking ball.
The Gore Place Society was formed
to preserve and restore Gore Place.
Today the organization continues its work
as a private non-profit.
The mission of Gore Place is to preserve and promote the 1806 country estate
of Christopher and Rebecca Gore
as a unique community resource
that tells the story of
early nineteenth century American life.
Gore Place has much to offer to the community
It has history, it has culture, it has open space
, It has events, it has things for the family,
It has peaceful calm, it has purpose,
It has education.
The Metro West Home Team at Central Square Realty Group has supported
The Gore Place mission for many years
as a Community Partner and would urge you to do the same
by becoming an individual or family member.
