- Phish performs "The Moma Dance" live at the Farm Aid concert in Tinley Park, Illinois on October 3rd, 1998. Farm Aid was started by Willie Nelson, Neil Young and John Mellencamp in 1985 to keep family farmers on the land and has worked since then to make sure everyone has access to good food from family farmers. Dave Matthews joined Farm Aid's board of directors in 2001.

the jazz funk era of phish, gosh i miss the late 90s phish sound.
This is the first Phish live video that I stumbled across over ten years ago, saw my first show last summer and haven’t listened to anything else since!
Same thing happened to me last summer 2023 at the king gizzard & The Lizard wizard shows in Chicago at the Salt Shed on June 12th and 13th.
I have literally listened to very little other than UA-cam videos of that June 13th show which was the best concert I ever attended.
I was at this show in Tinley Park actually but never became a fan.
Perhaps I'll delve into their back catalogue.

I've heard Momma Dance live now it seems like a million times and I still come back to this one as the BEST - Mike's bass was so funky and just PERFECT - awesome set in the freezing cold temperatures!

I was at this show ...... group of us had OH SO much fun. I remember thinking all night long this was the greatest band on earth and what was with Jon's hat and many people there were seeing them for the first time and blown away .....it was Farm Aid after all which attracts a wide range of music fans. Notice Fishman isn't wearing his dress. It was a cold outdoor show - beginning of FALL evening in Chicago's far South Suburbs. AND AND AND.... don't miss the very end when the V-Jay's call them "The Pah Hish." LOL. Stooooopid bitch and dickhead guy. They're called The PHISH 2000!!!

well im going to be a bit opinionated for a minute and hope you can all dig this and know full well no dis-respect intended !!! my friend in Albany will remain nameless because im sure most of you know him already. he called this band; " phlush !!! " L.M.F.A.O. !!! so we had been to im recalling; 12 shows or more. out of those 12 shows 3 of them we got robbed at. first time was in the parking lot an an un named venue; they smashed in our fucking wind shield for a pack of smokes and two bucks in change !!! ASK ME; DO NOT EVER, STEAL FROM ME !!! let me tell you some thing else !!! im a SEASONED DEAD HEAD WITH 108 SHOWS UNDER MY BELT !!! never did I get robbed at a dead show !!! these punks were what WE, dead heads call; 3 rd generation hippies !!! these BUMS, were spoiled their whole lives. when they rebelled and MOMMY AND DADDY, took away all of their spoils; then they took it upon them selves to, TAKE !!! to take from a hard core peace loving AND HARD WORKING; DEAD HEAD !!! I can say that I like phishes music; but as far as EVER paying to go to another show just to get robbed blind by some piece of shit who probably never even paid for their own, ticket any, how; NOPE NEVER AGAIN !!!
