Nice video. Beautiful knife. In my opinion, Great Eastern Cutlery is the best production traditional knife money can buy bar none. They are very hard to buy at retail because they are made in small batches and are extremely popular. The quality and fit and finish are impeccable. Love them. Thank you for the show and tell. Nice looking 56.
I agree between their F&F, how well they do their covers and overall variation I haven’t found anyone making traditionals at the same level. Thanks for watching!! 👊🏼⚔️
That's a very nice GEC, I like the avocado bone scales, I think they are very pretty. I don't own a GEC knife, yet but I'd love to get one someday. Thanks for sharing, take care and Cheers!
Thanks! How’s the market for them up there? I know the UK has a bit of a market so they aren’t too difficult to track down there but not sure about Canada. Hope you’re able to check one out eventually. Thanks for watching! 👊🏼⚔️
Excellent info on GEC. I am mostly ignorant of the brand so this was helpful. Fantastic looking knife. I really like the color, but it is a bit diaper-ish in color lol. My top tier slipjoints are TEW and A. Wright. I have the budget version of both and they rival most knives in my collection.
Thanks, definitely one of those brands that stays in its own lane, I didn’t really know anything about them until I started seeking them out. Haha I see the diaper-ish color too but still really like the color. And I don’t have any Taylor’s Eyewitness or A Wright yet so definitely going to need to check them out next, thanks for the suggestions. Appreciate you stopping by!! 👊🏼⚔️
Hey Jake, Very nice GEC buddy, I love it 😍👍🏻 It’s a shame that their knives are relatively difficult to get hold of and if they could upgrade their output I’m sure it would be well worth their while. Love that dog leg Jack and that spear point blade looks fantastic I’m with you on on the heavier pull and would have been nice if it was a fraction larger 👍🏻 That slips is very nice too 👍🏻 RoseCraft are certainly putting out some great knives that are very good quality and at a great price point. Arthur Wright & Taylor’s eyewitness are both companies that are putting out some traditional knives that, to me are well worth taking a look at. Ashley Harrison ( Arthur Wright) makes some fantastic custom knives at very reasonable prices. Thanks for this one brother 😎👍🏻
Thanks Sean, love this one! Agreed, would be nice if they could increase production of these. A couple people have mentioned Arthur Wright and Taylor’s Eyewitness now so they’re definitely on the list to check out next. Appreciate you checking it out my friend! 👊🏼⚔️
I do not own a GEC. However, I’d really like to, but I haven’t been able to put the energy into locating one. It seems like a lot of freaking work. For now I’ll just stick with CASE and their funky but sometimes charming flaws.
Yeah, definitely requires a bit of effort to track them down but well worth the effort I think. There are plenty of great Case knives out there to keep busy if you don’t though haha. Thanks for taking a look! 👊🏼
They're pretty the sex, so idk who would be higher tier... you said that slip was 1.75in wide? Seam to seam or edge to edge? How big are standard slips? 2in? Trying to make a few proof of concepts. My first is as the dog say - RUFF
This one is 1.75 edge to edge and 1.5 if you are measuring seem to seem. Most my other small slips are around 2 inches edge to edge and 1.75 seem to seem. Good luck, looking forward to see your progress if you decide to share them on the channel!!
I’d say they are modern slip joints. All traditional patterns but with a lot of modern touches so a somewhat unfair comparison but definitely gives me the same feeling I get with GEC.

very beautiful scales and very classy looking knife.
Thanks and agreed! Would love to track down some other patterns with these covers. Thanks for taking a look! 👊🏼⚔️

@@UncommonEDC I don't know any retailers who carry GEC in Canada?!!

Do you consider Jack Wolf traditional?
