There are different protestant sects that believe in different things. Some protestants are more egalitarian. Capitalism as either an economic system or idea didn't exist in the Middle Ages, they were feudalistic economy-wise and only emerge in the 18th and 19th centuries. The Protestant faiths of the Americans and Dutch pretty much allowed them to develop capitalism and industrialization.
