Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you both! I think one way to sell the gold is as "Paydirt". Even though not many people pan for the WA gold but find it in dryblowers or by detecting. In many places you can buy 0,5kg of soil containing at least 1 gr of gold. From Alaska, Finland, California or wherever. The thing I regret from visiting 2016,17 and 18 is not bringing some original Leonora soil! I got 0,5L of beautiful Esperance beachsand to the collection! The nuggets are nice and shiny in their boxes but not any resemblance of where they were found. Some people collect both, so give them the possibility to buy parcels of 1,2 or 3gr of pure Leonora gold with the original soil! Some will pan the soil out their garden or in the sewage but its up to them. Some will reuse the red dirt as background for the shiny stuff in their bookshelf. Maybe postage for this is equal to the assayers %? Another thing I missed was merchandise! T-shirts, hoodies, beanies, caps, mugs etc.. With a beautiful GoldtalkLeonora logo in different colours. God luck with the new year and may it bring many nuggets! 🎉
Thanks Kenneth....has it really been that long?? I do remember you mate...if you would like a small bottle of Leo dirt just email me an address and I'll see that it happens. Looking at the online merchandise side of things...watch this space!
Thank you Tony and Lise i have only just started watching you utube and am finding it really interesting, Im coming over to WA in August this year. Just to having a good look around from Leanora to Big Bell up toward Tom Price hope we can look you up when im there to hear your way of doing things thank you again Tony and Lisa
Tony and Lisa both funny, as always thankyou for sharing your knowledge always learn somthing watching you operate and listening to what you have to say, hope you get great results with the lithium u deserve it
I know someone who has been selling nuggets for about 40yrs. Ebay has just widened his market & they do very well out of it. It's a one person show & so has the time involved to carry our such operations. There're no tenements, machines, etc, etc involved, just time on the ground. There is a large market out there for jewelry, display, collection pieces, etc, etc. As well as institutions (one in England off the top of my head) who collect specimens for study & pay top dollar. So the trade off here is the time involved in the operation of the idea & whether you'd want to travel down that path. The auction house idea sounds like a good idea though. I live in Mandurah so might venture down for one of your shows. Keep slugging away 😉
Great video Tony and I am sure your viewers in bed can now catch up with what they planned. lol. Always great information about every topic and delivered with style. I worked at Leinster in the late 70s so know the area well and it does take a certain insanity to stay up there. Take care and all the best for the future. 🍻🍻🍺🍺👍👍😂😂🤣🤣
As has already been stated, There is a huge amount of time required to run an ebay store. A better option is to send the better looking or larger nuggets to an auction house to be sold , You can set the reserve for each nugget taking into account on costs charged by the auction house. Other than packaging up and sending the nuggets away the rest is done by them, ie photographing and uploading them to the site , dealing with the buyers and posting out the items. Once sold you just sit back and wait for the money to hit your account
Can’t believe you didn’t use my real name. !! And….. you actually look like you’re working. So happy to have met your lovely wife. Yes. In bed watching you ❤
There doesn’t seem to be any issue selling gold on eBay and getting spot price. The problem is eBay take 13% and that is on the total price including the post charge. Selling stuff on eBay is not as good as what it was. Of course FB market place and gumtree charge no fees. Those platforms come with their own issues. If you are going to be moving commercial quantities, you might be better off with a direct web shop and market through social media. Depends how big you want it to get. Food for thought.
My advice, for what it's worth, would be let the cobblers do the cobbling and get your extra margins through getting efficiencies from what you know and do well.
I guess Gold is like a lady, when your on it your having so much fun and feeling high, when your off it for a lengthy period of time you feel low and have withdrawal symptoms…😅
Honestly, with your eBay store. You will need somebody to handle that for you. Cause that's gonna be a full time job dealing with that, and depending on what you're selling, how big the items are will depend on how long it Take to move those items. Are you willing to pay somebody to do this for you that's the question
