The first member you were really into his voice and then thought he was someone else is their main vocalist lol so he’s their best singer the orange mic is the lead vocalist is the second and then green mic and pink mic are vocalists the other three are rappers…. But the guy with the purple mic that started it is the strongest when it comes to vocals… he’s a vocal enigma bc of his technique…. He always blows people away especially while he’s dancing full out… he’s the main vocalist for a reason lol check out the song “on kinetic manifesto” live… you won’t believe it lol

bts have been together for 8+ years!! they're very close and have an excellent working and personal relationship, they're literally a found family. deep understanding of each other's abilities, no jealousy. they're a wonderful and talented group of people ❤️

071521. I think RM (temporary blue hair; group leader, but middle in age; rapper' writer; producer; ...) was signed first, in 2010. Most of them, except Jimin, had about 2 years of training before the debut in June, 2013. For quite some time, they were in a tiny 1 bedroom apartment, all sleeping in the same small bedroom, with 3 sets of bunk beds and one single -- for baby (13 yrs old when signed -- in middle school) Jungkook, their main singer.
Jin (the one belting out, center right, pink mic) was recruited getting off of a bus while starting college for acting, had NO singing or dancing experience and had to work extra hard -- while also being the main cook -- for 7 hard working men.
V/Taehyung, in the center (green mic), with the unique voice, was raised on a farm, mostly by his beloved grandma, and had no intentions of auditioning when he just accompanied his friend to a local recruiting event. Staff noticed him and asked him to try out, and he was the only one picked for training that day. V's SWEET NIGHT ost, that he wrote and sang for his friend's Kdrama, this spring became iTunes far and away #1 song in the most countries in history -- 118. He passed up BTS' BLACK SWAN, which went into 2nd place, giving V the #1 and #2 spots.
Each has a story.
It is a miracle that this particular assembly of great talent was chosen, managed in a unique way, and became family and entertainment legends, despite great opposition in the local industry.

Jeon Jungkook the man starting Dynamite, is main vocalist in BTS and he is very versatile. He fits any genre and we have not seen his full potential yet. Loved your reaction, it was informative and funny.
Taehyung stage presence it's something that can attract anyone, even it's not first priority.

Just a helpful suggestion and in case you haven't watched the rest of their Tiny Desk is to make sure the CCs are on. They translated the next two songs that are mainly in Korean with a bit of English mixed in here and there. Dynamite is their first FULLY English song but they didn't have a hand in writing whereas they're all very involved with writing, producing and all other aspects of their music along with an inhouse staff. They celebrated their 8 year anniversary in June which means they've had a long time to work on being this incredible group. To anyone who wants to hate on the group - I hope you (generalized) keep in mind that they're the biggest group of artists in the world because their music speaks for itself. Amazing vocals along with a top notch rapline and killer dancing highlights music with a message that reaches out to anyone regardless of ages, races or gender.

The first guy who started the song is Jungkook, the main vocalist (in western often called the lead vocalist) of the group. he is super talented and great vocalist. He normally starts the song and sets the mood for the entire song. As you said, his pitch is always perfect and he is very well known for that. He is also the one who sings most ad-libs throughout the song including all those high notes towards the end.

The one you thought was the lead singer is indeed the Main Vocalist of BTS. His name in JUNGKOOK. He is an amazing vocalist. He is also the youngest of the group.

Just letting you know that BTS started as a hip-hop group, so 3 of them are rappers. While the rappers have done some vocal stuff (in their mixtapes and the once in a while song), they are known for their clever korean wordplay and rap verses.

Yes you were right about Jungkook being the main vocalist! Impressive - many people don't pick up on that, because the line distribution is pretty much even between three or four members, with one or the other being favored depending on the song.

I'm a Stan of the Rap Line but when it comes to the vocal line i have a soft spot for the voice of Jin
taehyung belting all that while being a baritone im so happy when he gets praised with his voice
They have been a group for 8 years and had training for from 6 month to about 3 years ( each different amount of time) before their debuted in 2013. And all this time they were working on their voices and dancing. At some point they were practicing for 14-16 hours a day

about the vocal line: Jin (with the pink mic) is the belter of the group, Jimin (orange mic) has the unique angelic tone, Taehyung (green mic) has the deep, soulful voice and Jungkook (purple mic) has the crystal clear, stable and controlled voice. They compliment each other really well.
The others are the rappers, RM, Suga and J-hope, and they're really insanely good at it. In this one they're all singing (also in their latest release and some other tracks) and it's always a nice surprise seeing they're great at it too.

One of the best things about Tiny Desk is I haven't seen anyone get hit with any copyright issues!
And I wish you had seen the one on the right end with the high voice absolutely agonizing over trying to have a good voice when he was younger. They CONSTANTLY work on their voices. Even the Golden Maknae Jungkook, who led off this performance.
It's always so great when professionals explain what amazing singers BTS are! The members have the most sincere work ethic and have been working incredibly hard for the last ten years, so although they certainly are all naturally talented, what you see is the result of a combination of things. They started very small and humble and have worked their way up step by step. They are now the biggest band in the world and were the most successful recording artists worldwide last year. And, yes, they are exceptionally close, which is one reason why the fans love them so much.

if you really want to see them flex their vocals you should check out their cover of Fix You just to enjoy on your own unless you want to go thru a crazy amount of editing to avoid copyright warning/strikes. All I can say about that performance is my gawd the harmonies!
At 13:56 that was jin in charge of belting and singing high notes, also has the prettiest lower register and known as the emotional singer of BTS.

Dynamite was their first English song. The other 2 songs they sang at the tiny desk concert were Korean numbers. You will discover that 3 of the 'singers' are actually rappers. Oh... and the oldest member of BTS (now 29) only started singing at 20 yo. His voice teacher says she has never seen any student make such progress.
They changed their mics often. Jimin is now using a silver (not orange anymore). Jin and Jhope are also on a new color. Jungkook often sing live during livestream (WITHOUT his colored mic) and he sing just as awesome. About their education - all members are doing their Masters degree at present while the youngest (23) is still doing his Bachelor.

I know absolutely nothing about singing and musical notes but I looove watching voice teachers react(especially to BTS). You will come to know that we ARMY(the fandom name) have a deep connection to these exceptional, humble and inspiring guys. You can say they are the biggest band right now, but that doesn't mean that there is no prejudice when it comes to them. This is why we like to see many people getting surprised by their talent and sincere personalities.

The reason ARMY always insists on subtitles is because we love their lyrics. They are amazing and some have helped million of fans get through tough times.

Lol, as you explore more of their music, you'll see that these notes aren't even considered that high for them. They also usually sing this song live with full choreo, still sounding this amazing.

BTS (Bangtan Sonyeondan which means Bulletproof boy scouts) is a group from South Korea with 7 members. The group just celebrated 8th anniversary.
- 4 vocalists, 3 rappers
- their fans are called the A.R.M.Y. (adorable representative M.C. of youth)
- they have so many different genres (pop, ballads, rap, hi-hop, R&B...) so we say that BTS is its own genre
- they have songs called Dynamite and Butter which are their only full english songs but in every song there are always some phrases in english
- they're writing their own lyrics (sometimes with help of people from their company)
- in their songs they're talking about so many important topics! (self love, bullying, social economic injustices, hard work, following your dreams, female empowerment and so so so so much more)
- turn on the captions when youre reacting to them
- most of the songs which seem like they have lyrics about romantic relationship, they are actually about love within themselves or for their fans
- you dont have to be worry about copyrights, their company dont care most of the time, there are some japanese songs and videos which are getting copyrighted but not those type of stuff or live performances

They aren't related at all, but they HAVE been a group for 8 years and have lived together for up to ten years, so they've said that they are family. :) There are 4 vocalists and 3 rappers... in seated order: J-Hope (rapper), Suga (rapper), Jungkook (vocalist), V (vocalist), Jin (vocalist), RM (rapper), Jimin (vocalist)... but all of them can sing and rap to an extent. They are also known for their insanely hard choreography and they sing LIVE while dancing. The vocalists and rappers actually have pretty distinct tones, but when they sing in English, their tones get a little closer together. V is actually a baritone.

I'm glad you decided to react to BTS.
It is currently the most important and well-known group on the planet (literal); They are pigeonholed into k-pop because they are from South Korea, but they have already overcome it because they are not afraid to embrace other styles and make them their own, generating their own style.
They are a great mix of great talents in singing, dancing, composition, production, in addition to being academically prepared kids and continuing to be authentic and simple; His songs have messages that not only reach youth but at any age, even helping to overcome problems of depression, anguish, low self-esteem, etc. They participate with UNICEF with the message of love yourself, they have been invited to speak before the UN General Assembly. They have won more than 300 awards and were nominated for the Grammys.
Hopefully you can continue to know their music (on UA-cam you can find their songs subtitled), their live performances where they sing and dance. I recommend the following 2 songs, beautiful lyrics and interpretation; but there is much more like Coldplay's cover of Fix You; Coldplay's own songwriter and vocalist described it as "beautiful."

This is years and years of training to be singers rappers dancers and performers. The same way we train our athletes from like middle school, they trained as entertainers.

Hi Mike: Welcome to BTS! I'm part of the BTS fandom and we are called the ARMY. BTS was on Jimmy Fallon Last night singing a new song called BUTTER. You should react to that. They filmed this performance on the World Cup Bridge in Seoul. It's a bridge that will be opening, August 2021. It's an Iconic performance. The way the lights hit the wires suspending the bridge, to the confidence BTS conveys during their performance. Anyway, thanks for reacting to BTS!

As a group from the Korean music scene, BTS has in fact been trained in singing, dancing and just generally performing.
The Korean music industry is structured differently in the way that you have labels, who take in promising young people (and with young I mean usually teenagers between 12-18) and train them between a few months toa few years, before letting them debut in groups or as solo artists.
This way they debut as already great performers.
BTS themselves made their debut under the label BigHit (now known as Hybe), which was a very small company at the time, even near bankruptcy at one point. Every member trained for a different amount of time, with RM, the official leader of the group and first member to join, training for 3 whole years from 2010 when he joined the label to their debut as a group in 2013.
What makes BigHit and BTS kind of an industry anomaly is their emphasis on artistic freedom, which leads to BTS being very involved in the writing and producing of their music right from the start. They are also allowed much more by their label than artists under other labels are, and write music about important issues they want to address such as mental health, bullying, the struggles of youth, female empowerment, social commentary and criticism of the system, etc.
They also release music completely for free on their SoundCloud as kind of "presents" for the fans, as well as solo stuff, which especially the three rappers of the group (RM, Suga and J-Hope) did by producing their own mix tapes.
I'd really love to see you react to more of their work, since their discography spans many genres and styles of music and has over 300 songs at this point, and they're just very talented young men that managed to stay humble, great human beings throughout their immense success.
If you'd like I'd be happy to recommend you some songs, and if you tell me which genres you're most interested in I could choose songs that fit that as well.
There also are great compilations of for example BTS' best falsettos and high notes, which might be interesting to watch as a vocal coach, as well as compilations of them singing unproduced, for example on live streams, in the studio, etc.

They trained and lived together in a dorm (7 guys in 1 bedroom) for over 2 years prior to their debut in 2013 learning to dance, sing, present themselves and all the necessary skills to become performers. Their day stated at 6h am way until late at night, sometimes doing dance practices for 12 to 14 hours with no day off. It's like those ballet academy where all you do is perfecting your craft. One of them, Jin couldn't sing nor dance before starting training, others had one skill like dancing or rapping but had to learn to sing and some the singers had to learn to dance. Two of the rappers didn't want to dance at first and the main dancer was encouraged to start rapping. The now lead singer was first more interested by the dancing. They were gifted for sure but they achieved success through hard painful work. They mostly compose, write and produce their own material except for their 3 latest all English songs. They might seem to appear out of nowhere making it instantly but it's far from the truth, it took them over 10 years to make it big. Jungkook the main singer left his home at 13 to enter BigHit Entertainment. He's now 24, that's 11 years of work and no play. They truly deserve their success.💛🌟💛

They have been together for almost 10 years ..Sometimes they practiced 16 hours a day. They are like brothers...They are amazing people "BTS From nobodies to Legends 2019" They really have an inspiring underdog story 💜
