Yes you're right it does perform very well. I've noticed that in my few wearings. I get whiffs of it all day but it doesn't seem overpowering. Just right. Hope they don't change that!

Indeed. I also float around dept stores being sharp with the clerks who hover over me asking "do you need any help?" I reply no thanks just testing. To be fair some are great esp in selfridges Birmingham. The you tube vids have already helped me blind buy good cheapies like Nautica Voyage and Mont Blanc Individuel. I also bought an old Dunhill frag i loved years personally called Pursuit... wife still loves it. Im not sure myself... building up a collection. Every payday i buy a few newbies.

I do prefer Cedrat Boise but I wouldn't recommend blind buying a fragrance that expensive (only cheapies). If you like Sauvsge and its in your price range I'd say it's a good safe bet . It depends on your age and whether it will be your main fragrance etc. Maybe get Sauvage and put some money aside for a few weeks and then get a more unusual niche scent.... But try it first.... Aventus etc can be sampled at big dept stores ...

Problem is, generally speaking ladies aren't really into mens fragrances, they don't know them, they haven't had the opportunity to acquire taste so they tend to like the crowd pleasers, exactly the kind of fragrance most fragrance lovers have outgrown. So I guess it depends who you're wearing the fragrance for and in my opinion one should wear it for oneself and not obsess over what other people will think.

Fragrances is always a tough battle because it's completely subjective, what one woman finds very intriguing and a fragrance that invades their senses yet seduces them at the same time, another woman finds repulsive and unpleasant. There's always the "in-betweens" that are more widely accepted but the catch 22 with that is every other guy is wearing it.
ADP Colonia Essenza is a great fragrance. I've never gotten tons of great compliments with it - mostly "that smells nice" or "that smells classy." Not bad, for sure, in terms of compliments but panty dropper? Hmm...
