Johnnie was a great pianist, but Lafayette Leake deserves some credit too. He played piano on Chuck's 2nd and 3rd albums and on many of his hit singles including 'Johnny B Goode' & 'Rock N Roll Music'.

Apparently your Grandfather taught Bob Wier of the Grateful Dead how to play rock and roll when he played with the band Rat Dog in the 90s. Very cool.
Johnnie was so good that even he lost sight of how good he was. This boogie is a masterclass for all twelve bar R&B and Blues students.

Those hot summer nights in St Louis in the 80's listening to Johnnie Johnson at Blueberry Hill 2 or 3 nights a week.
