Life certainly looked simpler way back. Having said that, would we really want to go back when the air was so polluted with smoke, and everything just took an age to achieve? Thanks for these. I remember Ashton Bros. mill during the 80's. Shocked to see the picture of Meadow Street in Hyde, I lived at number 4 from age 0 to around 10. Meadow Street is the street that's running vertical, and Stockport road is running left to right at the bottom. The old rail line from godley is just out of view to the left, and the houses at the top left must have been demolished as they are where Redford's rubber factory was.
