The way you describe the system build I can visualize it to easily understand these digital setups better. Great job on the install I can only imagine the sound.
Agreed, Brother. Billy had his own Dragonfly etc which will still work here, the DtoD converter just gives us a digital in to the amp which is a nice touche. Gives my man options, you know.

i have a bmw (f20) 1-series with a full audison setup. running a AP8.9 bit. what do i need to bypass the car headunit/radio and connect directly to the amp? and how do i do it? thanks
Which model of golf do you have? I have the sel wolfsburg edition with fender audio. they don't make harness for my model. I was wondering where do you tap the signal for your dsp? Did you do it at the amp or behind the head unit? Did you have to tap into both the tweeters and mid for signal? My goal is to have a dsp install, front components, and subwoofer
Hello mate. It's a simple Topping DAC D10s. For what it costs it's an extremely valuable addition. It's worth noting the apple camera kit used to extract from the iphone doesn't work too well with the new USB-C type Apple Thunderbolt bit that's the camera kit, not the DAC. I like it, it's a nice option.
This is a cracking install by the way. I have a similar thing, except it's an SMSL PO100 Pro. Am I right in saying that the resolution will step down to 96k, even though the external DAC might support a higher resolution, if you are going into the amp optical, rather than analogue?
@@Studioincar. Thanks for the response. If you are going from the Topping into the DSP via the analogue output, then I guess the DAC so to speak ends at the Topping and whatever res the DAC supports, is what you'll get, on the proviso that you have connected via analogue?
@@shakeelfaris7623 That's correct, yes. Whilst less important as they're usually spec'd very well, if the main concern is maximum resolution and DA conversion (one and the same, really), you also need to consider ADA conversion of the DSP chipset as it switches domains in the signal chain and its capabilities would also need to be upto spec. Anything with a DSP will never be truly analogous as it will up/downsample to its own capabilities. The moment a DSP is in line, DACs become a lot more difficult to realise the sonic differences between the two, for me. It's worth an explanation as to why. I know we're not discussing this mk7 installation specifically but as an example - In most of our installations, this one, for instance, we will only have one analogue input (at the amp/DSP) and sometimes a couple of digital inputs and the factory system will (more often than not) only present an analogue output so we're forced to make a decision on which way to go for the best compromise. If we were to use the TOPPING analogue output in this system, this would realise a higher resolution (albeit the maximum we could extract from an iPhone) but we would have an input for the head unit other than an AUX input with low input voltage gate. The OEM headuint in our installations is paramount for retaining the functionality of the car. A long answer (the short answer to your original question is yes) but I hope that helps in the understanding of why we make some of the decisions we do.
I love my setup. Thankyou guys at Studio Incar. It puts a big smile on my face on all daily commutes. It’s cool. ❤
You're welcome, Billy. Great client :)

Thank you :)
Excellent work Jamie on the pillars! They look brilliant. Great install, as always
I'll tell him you said that, brother!
love the vids very imformative love the wormanship in all your jobs on your videos.
Cheers Big Steve :D
Stunning as always Carl! 👌🏻👏🏻
Thank you :D
sublime stuff, love it
Thank you
I use dongle dacs all the time in my car
easy and cheap way to get a brilliant signal

Lovely! Top work lads 👏

Hey, nice setup but you have not mentioned the product information using USB to connect Mobile phone to the amplifier..

You Need a Nav TV Zen V unit to digitally integrate your car.
Brilliant, what digital to digital converter have you used in this? Any recommendations?

@@shakeelfaris7623 That's right. Whatever the least capable (spec wise) DAC is in the line is the max you'll end up with.

what dac is that next to the amp?
Topping D10S
Howzit Jamie, which head unit are you using?
Hiya! This one is just the factory mk7 unit.
