Yeah episodes 6 and 7 got mixed up because the one called plague of Madness was released early in April 1st last year. The one called scent of prey takes place after episode 5 and shows how Fang survived.

I think it was such a cool decision to make the dinosaur what it was. People always associate these long necked dinos with being peaceful and docile. But imagine how much damage could be done and how utterly terrifying it'd be if it went full terminator and just was an unstoppable force that would. Not. Die.
I gotta agree with ya there - that's why this is in my mind the scariest monster in all of media :O
It was horrible and very brutal way to go out.
We imagine them being docile, but the large herbivores we have today are known to throw their weight around a lot.
This shows how lethal a pacifist plant eater can be.

This is actually episode 7, not 6. It was released early as an April Fool's joke because of the pandemic.
But Hulu still fucked it up by swapping ep 6 & 7
This is just my theory, but I think that disease could be a combination of necrotizing fasciitis and/or rabies. While rabies causes hydrophobia, necrotizing fasciitis does not. The giant bats in a previous episode could be the initial carriers of the disease. The Parasaurolophus could have been attacked by one of the bats and became a host to the prion [a prion being most likely because it causes tissue damage and cell death].
Another thing that could factor into this would be what type of flesh eating bacteria would it be: Type II or Type III? Type II is the more common flesh eating disease while Type III is less common. While Type III forms following a significant injury/break in the skin (i.e. when the Parasaurolophus bit the Argentinosaurus), Type II mainly involves the extremities and can rapidly progress. Type I can be ruled out because it cannot be transmitted by trauma (i.e. a bite).
I'm pretty sure what we got was a sort of undead creature more then anything cause that thing should of died thanks to the liquid sulfur but it didn't, I highly doubt a mix of those two diseases are able to make that happened also we see that the poor thing no seemly no longer had any form of organs besides it brain I'm guessing seriously that thing had to be turned into literal ash just so it could finally pass on any creature that was living would have been dead atleast ten times over by that point what ever this shit was, I refuse to believe it to be natural because that is I'm pretty sure scientifically impossible
They made this episode release before cause they thought it was appropriate with the whole Codvid situation
6:30 It was an early gag release for April Fools Day. This takes place after the episode “Scent of Prey”
Scariest part being they never explained where this virus came from.
And considering later episodes show a whole clan of witches performing supernatural magic, it could also have been a curse/demon possession thing. a prime example was the little dinosaur that bit the huge sauropod had it's eyes return to normal and just die, but after it had infected the sauropod. as appose to the sauropod itself never actually died until it was so utterly destroyed by the lava. the little one died outright with significantly less bodily damage. so people have been reasoning that the curse is only taking hold of one dinosaur at a time.
After all, magical curses have also been called plagues, and have been associated with them.
It's one of the many things in this world actively seeking to kill those in it.
One UA-camr theorised that the virus was caused by the giant red Bats from a few episodes ago, considering that present day bats are incredibly capable of spreading viruses, including a form of rabies, which would be what this is: a terrifying form of super rabies. One of the bats could’ve bitten the Parasaur, it escaped but was infected, then it went on to spread the infection to the poor sauropod.
12:10 - 12:15 Talk about being caught between a rock and a hard place. Or should I say, *hot* place. But in this case, I'd rather risk getting burnt by lava than get bit or killed by that poor creature.
You'll never see Land Before Time the same way after watching this episode. Like, damn, what a way to emphasize Covid19 last year, Genndy!

@@natek4488 It’s probably a ancient prion (like Mad Cow or most fitting CWD (Chronic Wasting Disease) Based on the fact that’s it’s body is wasting away while it spread via bodily fluids that are probably originating from the cranial and spinal regions it is likely a variant of CWD with rabies like aggression and secretion of blood into the production of saliva that when combined with excessive saliva production that causes foaming at the mouth.

From what I'd heard (which could be wrong), this episode was a "mid-season special" serving as the creative team's commentary on the pandemic situation (since this episode came out during the early-to-mid stages of the crisis).
Yes. My favorite episode. This is episode 7 but it was released early for April 1st because of current world circumstances.
The thing is, This episode came out before episode 6 for April Fool's supposedly because of the pandemic & the holiday.
That “lava field” is more likely sulfuric acid, as it is more liquid than lava.
The Longnecks are not Brachiosaurus, they are Argentinosaurus, a sauropod that lived in the Late Cretaceous period.

The first 4 are good, the rest are hit or miss.
I personally enjoyed all of them (5 is my favorite), but some of them aren’t as good as the rest (8, 11, and 13 are my least favorite)

Edit: I also found it very disturbing how it was revealed this dinosaur had no more organs and yet it was still moving Because when it ripped that huge side of flesh off of its body to get through the rock you'd think some organs would have spilled out

You know the fact that an April's Fools joke still works after a year is kind of impressive.
I would be on board with this, but those videos can REALLY drag on. Good for personal viewing and listening, but not good for a reaction.

You guys are doing well, but you talk too much. For instance you were so caught up in your own super Metroid allusion and “violent” deaths that you missed one of the more poignant notes of the episode. The dinosaur was suffering and even though it was destroying everything Spear and Fang both looked remorseful

Instead of typing in an episode and season, just put in "primal scent of pray."
A couple of times when I tried it season and episode, it took me over to ... I think, Night Stalker? Night Terror? Probably that was next episode before the episode after this.
Anyway, it took me a while before realizing Scent of Pray was technically supposed to be episode 6, so instead of episodes, I'd just go with title.
Video for Life Scent of prey was episode 6, Plague of Madness was episode 7, Coven of the Damned was episode 8, The night feeder was episode 9.

Tbh, this isn’t any less plot related than say Terror under the Blood Moon (both just one-offs where the main characters stumble into a dangerous situation) or most other S1 episodes, so I hesitate to even call it filler.

Ok so episode 6 and 7 got mixed up. Adult Swim accidentally released this episode on April Fools Day before the episode that actually continues from where Rage of the Ape Men left off was released. Scent of Prey shows how Fang recovers and all that.

I cringe everytime they say dinosaurs are reptiles, in reality they arnt closely related to reptiles they more related to birds and crocodiles rather than reptiles

@Golden Crusader crocodiles are more closely related to dinosaurs (including birds) than other reptiles, and yes crocs are reptiles and dinosaurs aren't
