    $1000 is only the starter emergency. After that you save 3 to 6months worth of expenses.😊

      See this is why I don't follow it to a T and said that everyone's situation is different. For me having more money in emergency is more important than having that 3-6 months worth of expenses saved. I want to have at least $2K-$4 in the bank for emergency before I focus on getting 3 to 6 months ahead. I feel like if I say this people would get angry at me because of how he has laid out his system ...this unfortunately has happened 😅.

    It worked though Desiree. You followed the principal and succeeded. All budgets have to adjust with the times. I see your growth and I am so happy for you.

    I love your videos Desiree. I have learned so much from you and gotten so many tips and ideas. I'm new to budgeting and I'm a married 47 year old with 4 kids! We've always paid our bills and had a budget for food and gas but didn't do much of a budget besides that. When I started feeling anxious to pay bills and anxious when I spent I realized some things needed to change with the way we spent money. I wanted to be sure I had money set aside for specific things. It feels so good to have that now. We do use the Every Dollar app and partially do the envelope system. We pretty much have envelopes for recurring funds and sinking funds. We leave money in our account for bills, food, gas, and misc. The rest goes in envelopes. Its been a huge and wonderful change for us. I'm sorry this is so long but I wanted you to know how apprective I am of what you share and the work you do here.💐

    This helps me so much. I wasn't sure if necessities like toothpaste and TP are included in cash stuffing, so thanks for showing that. I did withdraw from my envelopes for toothpaste. I love that you account for every expense.

    I agree about Dave Ramsey. Though his program got me out of debt and put me on a great path to stay out of debt his personality is not my cup of tea. I think it is great that you have someone like your step dad to go to and talk about money with. Great video!

    How did you initially figure out all of your spending categories? Did you go back through your budget and figure out how you had been spending, or another way?
    Also 1000 in so cal is a lot less than it would sound to someone who doesn’t live here…I don’t think people realize how expensive it really is to live around here.

    Why not use whole numbers, example: (3 instead of lll) it takes less time to write and when adding less mistakes are made.

    • @Happy2planwithDesiree
      @Happy2planwithDesiree  8 місяців тому +1

      I’ve been thinking about making this change…especially since sometimes I do write numbers for the ones and it can get confusing if I make an 11 and think it’s a 2. I don’t know why I do that 😅 but it’s just a habit I need to break 🤣

    I like the idea. However, so far what I see is how much you spent for yourself. I think family is so important. Give more towards others, rather than yourself. Your budget is not realistic. Unless you don’t pay rent (Mortgage) or pay bills. That would be understandable. And by the way, I got out of deft through Ramsey’s budget system. And also the my friend and her family. She highly recommended. If you don’t like. That’s fine. However don’t be negative towards other Budget systems or other people. Ok. I’m signing out. Thx

      @Bjustbudgets 8 місяців тому +16

      You don't want her to be negative towards other budget systems but here you are judging how she budgets. Maybe you're new here but Desiree doesn't cash stuff her bills, also she has several streams of income. She's also out of debt by using tweaks on his system, it's not the end all be all. Please remember everyone's journey in life is different.

    • @Happy2planwithDesiree
      @Happy2planwithDesiree  8 місяців тому +10

      That's amazing! Honestly I wish I would have heard something about this before I started my debt journey. I had zero clue where to start so I get how his system works out great for people. I only say that I don't follow his method to a "T" because I have been blasted for not...that's why. One person went off on me because I don't which was a very extreme reaction and thankfully has only happened once but this is why I said I'm not here to give advice about it just sharing how I do things. I also really don't need any judgment on how I choose to spend my money because I would never do that to anyone. I'm not here for that. The whole reason I started this system was to control my spending I have rent and bills and I share that in my budget setup videos for the month so you can see all the things i have to budget for before I pull money out to cash stuff. I don't cash stuff for any of my bills and rent which is why you don't see any of that if you have just seen this video.

      Dave Ramsey is not the end all - be all for everyone. I personally can’t stand him. He’s rude and condescending. Desiree has done a fantastic job with her saving and cash stuffing - so many learn so much from her. And it’s her business what she budgets for and no one else’s..

    • @TrappedQue
      @TrappedQue 8 місяців тому +3

      I also don’t follow everything Dave suggested. The only thing I agree with him is the snowball debt method. I especially don’t take any investment advice from him.

    • @ginahowell4059
      @ginahowell4059 8 місяців тому +4

      EVERY budget is different. YOU have NO right to judge her because she does HER budget the way it works best for HER. You can budget however YOU want to. She is very brave to share her journey for all of us to see. Do you have a UA-cam page that shows the world how you budget? If not, maybe you should start one because you might inspire others. We SHOULD be lifting each other up instead of tearing each other down. JMO by the way. Also, when did she criticize other people? I watched the video again and didn't hear anything negative about other people.
