    Dr. Capet I find you extremely intelligent I admire you for all your work that you're doing and trying to help people I'm a cardiac nurse practitioner trying to help my patients learn to live naturally and help them get off of all the meds
    I appreciate your time and energy it takes to do these forums please continue I'm into really helping people with thyroid disease but it's really not the thyroid it's so much it's the liver if ever you name it that's what it is please teach on anything you can regarding the thyroid or the adrenals thank you so much and God bless you

    I have hoshimoto thyroiditis plus I'm mercury toxic. So I've been taking selenium but maybe not enough. After listening to your video I Wil increase my dose. Thanks for the informative and helpful information

    Brazil nuts are the richest dietary source of selenium, with a one-ounce (28 g) serving of 6 nuts supplying 774% DV. This is 10 times the adult U.S. Recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA), and it means that all you need is just ONE Brazil nut per day. Even if it is true that the amount of selenium within batches of nuts can vary, they will still provide all the selenium you need.

      Well it depends on the amount of selenium in the actual soil the nuts are grown in. Plants can't create minerals.

      Maybe true, but it also depends how much the SELENIUM mineral content of the soil that these BRAZIL NUT TREES grew from.

    Selenomethionine is not so much for the cancer part according to an interview Mercola did with a dude who studied slenium for years... Selenium form yeast reduced risk of cancer and selenomethionin is more for the glutathione part.

    I am deeply grateful that all of this info is made available to us and especially appreciate the time and effort each person who has contributed their knowledge. One common thing I find in the past 6 years of my research is that so many who contribute do not clarify the type or “biological/scientific” name on the bottle we need to search for. What type of selenium? Please, please advise! Thanks so much!

    I'm on my way to buy selenium. I already take Magnesium Citrate, D3+K2 and Omega 3.
    Is 100 µg or 200 µg good. I don't want to overdose and I'm new on selenium.
    I eat 2 eggs/day, sunflowerseeds, pumpkinseads, coconut oil...well you get the picture :) so I don't want overdose selenium thow I red it can be dangerous.
    I eat low carb (50 g carbs/day and NOT from bread or pasta or anything like that)

      Extensive research shows that the protective dose of selenium is 150 to 200mcg daily
      Selenomune is an excellent form of 3 types of selenium with other minerals and methylcobalamin form of B 12

      Amman Ågren there much incorrect about what you just stated. eat no gluten it prevent proper absorbtion of minerals, no oils bottled of any kind including coconut oil. you need at least 6 organic eggs a day poached or soft boiled. no burnt animal fats red meat no more then medium, and selenium you cannot over dose on plant based organic selenium , the body flushes what it doesnt need. I beat stage 3 colon cancer 100% naturally... if you would like more info let me know.

    What are the symptoms of taking too much selenium? Asking just in case, as it is difficult to know how much one is getting in ones diet. Can one safely supplement with 200 mcg per day? Thank you.

    Her recommendations for its dosage is amazingly too small. Selenium is necessary for nearly every system of the body, and needs much more than 100-200 mcg/day for sure. Many are taking between 400-1,000mcg a day with excellent benefits.

      why does it say on the bottle that its toxic in high doses?i feel better with more too...they say only 150mcg per day??is that really low you think?have you got more info on this as I want to take more but scared its too much.

      Go by your symptoms. Look up the deficiency symptoms, find out what your body tells you and look what 400 mcg does for you. It CARE’s my psoriasis but only at 400 mcg. I need it for the Thyroid as well. I don’t go beyond 40o mcg, it’s toxic above 600 mcg. Depends on a persons weight a# well I guess. Seleniomethionine reduced my Thyroid antibodies.(Hashimoto).

    Thank you so much for this great information!! I do have one question: would an increase in selenium help with chronic pain?? (I was injured by a dentist and the last three years have been a literal hell for me - and my poor family.) So I am trying to research & use as much nutritional aids) supplements as I can.     If you are supplementing with selenium, it's important to also supplement with copper, as selenium and copper kind of fight each other. If your selenium supplement also contains copper then you're doing it right.

      +StyrbjornStarke Same here. I also take a spectrum of other vitamins and minerals. The most important thing I take is Lugol's Solution. 2% Iodine 4% Potassium Iodide. 13 to 20 MG a day. I cant believe how much better I am doing. I was in REALLY bad shape before. MY whole physical being is improving to where it should be.

      StyrbjornStarke I apologize if I came off sounding like a Dick. Awesome about the Selenium though. I wasn't kidding when I said about it helping turn my health around. It's really odd how we don't notice something is missing until we find it. That's how it was with Iodine and Selenium for me. And its actually helping with my Ketogenic Diet. since I started supplementing all this stuff and on this diet I have lost about 38 lbs. this month alone. I expect it to slow down now.

      For healthy strong hair you need a healthy liver because the liver makes protein. I recommend plenty of vegetables and fruits. Avoid smoking. Do regular exercise. Take LIVATONE PLUS 2 capsules everyday. You can also take SELENOMUNE, 2 capsules every 7 days to slow down ageing of the hair.

    @Sandra Cabot Hi Sandra, What is the best form of Selenium to take in a tablet/pill form?, I mean what's the best absorbable form to take to get the best benefit.
    I know about Magnesium the best forms are either Citrate or Threonate (which crosses the blood brainbarrier)
    just wondered if i added the word CITRATE to Selenium or any mineral for that matter would it give the same results with regards to bioavailability and absorbing to all the minerals??

      Thanks,i looked into it, great product,but seperately i nearly take all of those vitamins and minerals. Just needed a seperate Selenium with top bio availability,i've looked at the 3 types in the formula though thanks.
      2 biggest things that changed my life health wise was and still is;

      It's crazy because whites have sulfur base melanin blacks have selenium based melanin which is why they conduct the sun and absorb vitamin d and everything else where are sulfur reflex it and causes them to burn....       In Australia it is spelt 'holistic'. Different country. Some of our words are spelt differently, i.e., counsellor, organisation etc.
