I have a lot of ideas for videos I want to make and will probably start once I move out lol

Before you comment that Blue and Green are mixed up THEY ARE NOT! This is a Japanese Fan Manga, they call him Green over there because Red and Green were the first Pokemon games in Japan (not Red and Blue like in America). Also I forgot what songs I used in this video ;_; If you recognize the songs I used please comment below, I want to add them to the description
The song you used for the Eevee's backstory was "Unwavering Emotion". While reading the manga, the song complements the manga's scenes so well. Thanks for the manga recommendation.
@@AstronautToilet Thanks!
Green is the better name anyway
One of the songs is the Sea Mauville music
@@nyx_ender THANK YOU SO MUCH I HAD THIS SONG ON THE TIP OF MY TONGUE
Seeing Blue's trauma of unable to touch Pokémon is like the anime's version of Lillie's trauma done much better, while Lillie was scarred and frightened by the past of what happened, Blue gotten hurt by one, and its her issue growing up
I never made that connection, that's interesting
@arikendo the more you know 🌈 and yeah I guess not much people remember Lillie's fear of not being able to touch pokemon from the anime
yea, ppl forget that she used to think pokemons are scary creatures.
It's why Festival of Champions works. The games and anime need to meet deadlines to sell merchandise so a lot of interesting concepts come out half baked. Festival of Champions is a labour of love that takes it time and condenses and expands on everything that worked in other media. Ash versus Gary was the original rivalry, Ash versus Paul was a refinement giving them opposing ideals, then comes Festival of Champions to take this concept even further with the trio of Red, Blue and Green.
Everyone forgot that kid in the Deoxys movie ? :(
Reticate's will is inherited both through Growlithe and Eevee. They each develop in memory of their lost friend. The Pokémon are individually their own characters, it's amazing
If we get another chapter I would be sooo hyped to see the Green and Blue fight you already know it's going to be amazing
Took a page out of Pokemon Mystery Dungeon in the best way possible. Explorers of Sky is underrated.
@@arikendowhat has me skeptical of how the green vs blue fight will go is that, given how red vs green (aka gary) is the most popular fight, blue (aka the actual green) is gonna lose against gary oak.
@@dylanzlol7293 Skeptical how? It's obvious blue will lose, red vs green will be the finals, everyone knows and sees it coming, what's cool is seeing exactly how we get to that point
@@Uri433 hm, yeah. By the way, blue's eevee is an espeon, right? Well, in pokemon gold, red's team has an espeon, meaning that blue is going to gift it to red, possibly as a last resort method for them to convince green.
The creators if this manga are obviously not constrained by "kid friendliness" or out to sell millions of toys/cards/games etc. Wheras the official works have been utterly consumed by those things, there is true love for the series itself here. The lack of the "corporate touch" really makes all the difference!
This actually surpass every official pokemon manga products the art of this manga really throw me out no pokemon manga i read has this type of art/story no pokemon manga Will ever come close to this perfection
What . Pokespe or Pokémon adventure's manga was always officially the best performed manga series in Pokémon.
@@MaskedEmperor18I’m a huge fan of PokéSpe myself but Festival of Champions is different to PokéSpe. It’s not exactly a fair comparison when they’re not exactly trying to do the same thing.
Thats what happens when you take years for a chapter.
Frfr
You need to be kidding me honestly
Pokemon Special has love and doesn't need to be hella dark or pretensious like this manga to put the readers in constant fear or nervous
I'm so glad I stumbled on this video. The whirlwind of emotions I felt throughout the story was something that I haven't felt in a hot minute, and no official Pokemon story has made me feel this way. I'm definitely hoping we get a next chapter soon!
Yes me too! I've re-read a few times and it still manages to hit me in the feels everytime
This is honestly a really good manga. It has so much emotional depth that it achieved! But not only that, the characters are so fleshed out and it just feels like the ultimate versions of them. But I'll just throw it out there, the character cameos are something else. We got Young Skyla, Young Gold, Young Volkner, Young Flint, Jessie & James, Misty's sister Daisy, Mr. Goodshow, etc like an insane amount of cameos from characters from the anime and games just merged into one, it just feels like the ultimate Pokemon experience, because Pokemon fans can see so many easter eggs and references they just put in there, because their are a ton, like I didn't expect them to reference Legends Arceus either.
I really glad it didn't shy away from mature themes either like Pokemon abuse, blood, murder, etc. It's like an really mature experience for Pokemon and having a storyline being featured around Green's Radicate is something else, like how it effects him and his team. It just such great storytelling, also the way the manga artist was able to draw Pokemon, because I was so captivated with Pikachu's expressions and emotions, because they're so good in the beginning chapters.
This is such a good recommendation for any adult Pokemon fan, because it's got it all.
How this manga handled the Cubone story blows completely blows Pokemon Origins out of the water.
Amazing presentation of how Team Rocket are all vile criminals that use very dangerous underhanded tactics instead of just fodder for the main characters to beat up.
It's like the novel about cats or kids turning into animals. The cover looks goofy but the book is about war crimes and stuff.
Don't forget it's portrayal of grief and mental health like depression. This fan manga done a nice job portraying different layers of grief and how it effects different people, both trainers and pokemon alike. Such a phenomenal manga despite being fan-made 😢
This was the kind of mature, grounded story I tried over and over again to write when I was younger and more avid about pokemon than I am now. It's awesome to see how much fans still care about the games, enough to make a masterwork story like this complete with incredible artwork. We all may grow older, but it's all the more comforting knowing that the thing we all fantasized about as kids is now in the hands of people like the author of this doujin. You can clearly see they have the same youthful passion towards these games as the day they discovered it.
I love how this makes me think back to the special manga and how Red caught Pikachu back when it was going wild in pewter city
I WISH THERE WAS MORE CHAPTERS
i really like how this fanmanga draws pikachu's eyes, and i love the fact that they show his pupils, makes him seem more badass. Itd be cool if pikachu was drawn with those eyes more often by other people
I fucking love this fan manga! Espeon's and Karen's stories. And that with scene with Red and his pokemon, Those scenes rewrote the chemistry of my brain!
Oh my god Karen and greens fight was pure perfection
Houndoom and Karen's stories were honestly to good some of the best shit I've read in general this year. Karen's battle to prove to the world that Dark types aren't what they seem will always stick with me!
I love this fan comic it explores Blue’s grief Green’s childhood trauma and Red’s ambition it’s so great and action packed and it really shows the rivalry between Red and Blue and how Green feels conflicted about her friends fighting
Umm green is the rival
Green is green in the manga green is female and in the manga blue is male so manga translation error got blue and green mixed up so please don’t make me explain myself to you
@@Star-vw2qf They're both technically correct thou. Both characters got both names, just because Japan got Red/Green and we got Red/Blue, then it's muddied more with Fire Red/Leaf Green. But in this manga, you're correct, Blue is named Green to correspond with Japan's Red/Green and Leaf is named Blue.
This is exactly how most people would treat pokemons if they were real🥲
@@SorceressRose Isn’t the only reason at least by the game that blue is green because that’s what the player likely chose and depending on the game that you got? Like if you got Pokémon green One of the names that would be there possibly being green and then two others? The manga kind of shows who’s actually who.
This manga is both mature and not edgy to the point of it being a bad fanfic
I read the chapter where he got Pikachu and I'll be real I cried
I have known this manga for some time. I love it and downright idolize Karen and Green's fight. They showed his trauma after losing his Pokemon very well. The interesting thing is his Arcanine and his behavior. Green took the emotion out of the fight and the pokemon. Arcanine, on the other hand, seems to still have some emotion. It seems to me that at some point he will stop listening to the trainer and rebel. Karen also told him: You may eventually not hear the voices of the pokemons.
After the last chapter, I am terribly excited about the fight between Green and Blue. It seems to me that it will be more of a battle of ideas and a display of their own experiences and beliefs. One thing is certain. It will be epic.
I feel like if gary loses growlithe, he'll switch to heracross or tyranitar (in pokemon firered, gary postgame's team includes these two pokemons), and, another curious thing, in firered, if you chose bulbasaur, then in indigo plateau, gary replaces arcanine with exeggutor, which means that if arcanine ever abandons gary, the comic could reference his "red-chose-bulbasaur" team by giving exeggutor to gary so that he replaces arcanine
@@dylanzlol7293he already has an exeggutor on his team though
So are we going to ignore the fact that Pichu evolved without being exposed to real friendship? 😶 After all, the trainer was frustrated so that must leaded to a lot of abuse before 😕
the trainer did provide affection at the beginning, that's why pikachu was happy at first. unfortunately it didn't last because... SPOILERS go read the manga :D

This is one of the best mangas ive read and its LITERALLY CRIMINALLY ILLEGAL we did not hear or see anything from the author since corona started 😥😭 the author used to only publish new chapters on something like a japaneese commic con . The fight betwwen Arcanine and Houndoom was FIRE
Peak Pokémon. I hope they author makes more soon. Typically a couple of years between each chapter 😅
After reading the comic up until the last part that was translated, i'll be honest, this story actually managed to touch my heart, especially after seeing eevee's dream (my favorite pokemon btw), i feel like i strengthened my sense of empathy tbh.
This is literally the most realistic pokemon manga ive ever seen, even more realistic than the official manga is allowed to get, and that's what i love about it,they're not making it constantly lucky and magical like the anime, they actually show the struggles of life
the pikachu part broke me man, and then red finding it like. Damnnn.
yep and that's literally the introduction to the series, it just gets better and better
I'd seen this floating around doujin sites before but never knew what it was, super excited to get the chance to read it in English it looks amazing!
@diavolojaegar4363Wait, you were looking for Pokémon doujins?
I'm so used to Blue and Green having names the other way than you keep saying, and I keep getting confused 😅
The Cubone section with his Mama broke me, Beautiful manga
Glad I saw this video, I'm pretty sure i was reading this previously but then lost it after the site i was using to read it was gone. I remember the Raticate story and also the story about the elite 4 dark type trainer. Like the emotions and story behind them was just really strong and immersive.
Holy shit, this doujin is really fucking good! I mean, it has so much of the qualities that really drew me to Gen I and even manages to tap into Creatures Inc.'s Earthbound roots as Ape Inc. I can't help but superimpose Ninten, Anna and Lloyd onto the panels of Red Blue and Green in my mind. THIS is how I remember Pokemon on my childhood GBC!
I like that it becomes an Espeon.
One: because I like more generation of pokemon being in old regions where they didn’t exist yet.
Two: It reminds me of starting anew in a way. Like the saying “a dawn of a new day”.
Quick question though, which pokemon knocked Raticate out? I’m curious about that.
Strongly recommend you read the manga for yourself but spoilers below..
Green takes on Team Rocket by himself and ends up in a dire situation. His Raticate sacrifices himself to let him and the rest of his party escape, its a really sad panel
@@arikendo Ohh, that’s sad 😢
But hey, that adds another reason. Since poison types are weak to psychic types.
And yeah, I’ll definitely try to read it sometime.
@@A_Hylian_Not_An_Elfactually, this is directly referenced in the manga
Where Eevee evolved into “what she wanted to be back then”, because if she had been a Psychic-type she could have defeated team Rocket without Raticate needing to get poisoned, or used her powers to sense it and get him help before it was too late
I'm so glad I stumbled into this, one of the best reads of the year. I'll be waiting for the next chapter.
you can tell the artist of it read electric tale of pikachu between some of the ways he draws pokemon , especially pikachu and nightmare haunter to the quick clear pokeball with pichu
wasn't that also the manga that was a little more... mature?? LMAO
Main Series Pokemon has never made me emotional, i've only ever gotten emotional while playing Mystery Dungeon EoS, the fact that this manga made me cry several goddamn times really speaks to the absolute masterpiece in storytelling it is.
That’s the problem people think Pokémon is just for kids but even in the anime you see scenes of trainers abusing their Pokémon before abandoning them, what’s worse is that Pokémon like Charmander and Gengar risk or waste their lives waiting for that trainer to come back. Even when they do they haven’t learned anything. Then you had Paul and his abused Chimchar. It just goes on the manga’s have a lot of it too.
Shout out to this channel and the fan behind the manga. Really enjoy the story. Good job, looking forward to reading more.
Your video was recommended to me at random, i didn't even search anything about pokemon or mangas. But im glad i got to know this fan-manga, i've read everything and it's one of my favorite manga now
This sounds really good! I'll definitely check it out! I'm not a Pokemon fan at all, I don't know much but this came in my recommendations and I liked what I heard. Thanks!
Thank you for the video! I have never been a Pokemon Fan and was not interested in the franchise. This manga, on the other hand, gave me the interest like nothing like it before. I hope Pokemon Co. will make story as this one in the future.
I don’t really play pokemon anymore but I was always interested in the concept of it so I will check this out! Thanks!!
I didn't expecting your video will hit me hard
I kinda read the manga and know the reputation, but your edit n story telling is good and can deliver the emotion they have
Good job for you
Binged this masterpiece in full (to this point) today and the part which most impressed me was actually the drawing. seijun has such a way to convey expressions that no amount of words could compare
Thanks for this wonderful manga I've just read after watching your video. First few chapters literally got me chills, emotions, sadness. W manga, wish this could be official manga someday or at least make like one like this manga
This is pretty cool, I always wondered if there was a Pokémon fan manga with a graphic novel type art style. I'll have to keep a look out for more of these.
Thanks for the recommendation(I didn't need more convincing but I was looking forward to returning to this video the whole time I was reading) the story was very good
Genuinely so glad this video popped up in my recommended section. Where I expected something like a short summary of the manga (as that's what I've been watching a lot lately) I instead got a recommendation to one of the most heartfelt, well written, and incredibly loving stories I've ever read about Pokemon... ever. It hits hard! "But you've obtained strength by standing up despite being broken." Like damn son, I've been writing Pokemon fanworks for nearly a decade and I still can't make lines that slap you with relatability like that! The only problem is that there's not more of it!
Yeah this is 100% the best Pokemon fan story I've experienced so far. I'm trying some Pokemon Fan Games to see if any of them live up to this but seriously this feels like something that could be its own work
@@arikendoare there other good sad pokemon mangas?
Im currently looking for them but this was so good that it set my bar high lol, dont worry I'll make a video if i find something else like this
This is more adult orientated, I also wanted to make such a pokemon manga. I can draw manga but I'm stuck between school life, freelancing and other projects. When I make small drawings to keep my skill on okay level. I think should I make a doujin, doujinshi or an original manga. I've some stories for them all. For example I wanted to make a pokemon villain manga where as the villain slowly gets to a misunderstood antihero who is perceived as a hero in the end. I don't going to throw the whole concept in here. But yeah. Also who Pikachu is ash his main. His main is a Gengar.
Hey man go for it! I’m juggling making UA-cam videos and work (balancing with college used to be harder). Never give up on ur dreams :)
That history of a pokemon villain could work for a story about a team rocket grunt who had a hard life and became a criminal.

Wow man , you really give me the will to buy that .
Im going to buy the first book and see by myself . Thk
Thank you for showing this Manga. It’s great.
I thought the Pichu was a late bloomer and would've revived a Rocky-esqe training montage for it to evolve and gain its famous electric powers as Pikachu.
*BOY HOWDY WAS I WRONG!*
I read the entire manga 2 years ago up the battle with Leaf and Skyla still waiting for the continuation of the story but yeah Festival of Champions it’s amazing. 🤩
Oh yah this doujin is awesome, the choreography is awesome and we see increased depths of iconic characters
the best moment?
arcanine vs houndoom
the art, the emotions, from start till end, just perfect👌
I remember years ago when i got to read this manga first chapters
This blew out my mind and to this day I'm still waiting for the next chapters
This is so close to the original mangas I read as a kid and inspired me to draw
I loved it and the battles are brutal. So I can't wait till they pick it back up
The art style is so cool
i just finished reading and THANKFULLY i read the Pikachu and Red backstory after i caught up to the latest chapter because it hits hard as hell. So far this is the absolute best piece of Pokemon media i've ever witnessed, i cried man
Yknow, the abusive trainer having a whip reminds me of the beta pokemon green content where there were more trainers holding whips (including the main character)
yeah kinda makes you wonder why gamefreak added those whips in o_o
@@arikendo i think that the original idea was gonna be that trainers treating the pokemons in not-so-desirable ways was a common thing, like circus animals being trained harshly, i suppose. But as we know only team rocket and sabrina and some other trainer types used whips in the released green/red gen 1 versions.
Dude. They used to have fucking Skinheads and Gamblers in the OG Pokemon games. Great. Imagine a Pokemon game with Neo Nazis that makes Team Rocket in these manga go WTF.
Wow i never thought i would be touched by a pokemon doujin.
The evee evolving into espeon is honestly the most peak storytelling i have seen in months.
This almost made me tear up man-
Literally watched this video video and immediately had to go and read all of that is out currently 💀
For someone like me who's not a pokemon fan, the first chapter got me hooked and i can't wait to see what happens next.
Wow great manga suggestion! Will defintely check it out. Great choice of music throughout the video too, kept me engaged and in the mood. Wondering if you don't mind sharing the musics used?
I am so sorry, this is back when I made videos over multiple weeks and I honestly have deleted all the files relating to this project because I had no more space. I know that a few of the tracks are Lofi Hip Shop from Deltarune and Snowbelle City, but am not sure about the others. If I find out, I'll put it in the description
No worries! @@arikendo Amazing video nonetheless!
Since Raticate’s death had to do with a Pokémon battle, if Pokémon were real, I wouldn’t battle them out of fear for their safety and well-being.
I think it's similar to irl fight. As long as both sides follow the rules and respect each other, risk could be minimized. Ratata seems to be a pretty special case. As it's stated that he got high dosage of poison. Not only that, he seems to still be battling through out the cave. Which kinda makes sense that ratata went well ahead 'faint'. With that being said, i probably would be scared to actually battle if pokemon is real. I don't want to have a giant wall of water to hit me.
@@Dismiazsyeah, but in this manga Pokemon battling is explicitly pretty brutal, like Pokémon are bloody and get broken bones by the time the fights are over, it’s really intense
It really justified the plot of black and white
This is peak pokemon story thx 4 da link

Huh, what a interesting Story, I gotta say these Fan-Made projects can be something else.
So emotional especially the eevee to espeon arc

Already a minute in and this pikachu has gone through my exact life.
You know what, I’ve never seen the official mangas, but given what the comments and this video says, I have to say. I have never seen this level of character depth and development in a fan comic/manga such as this except other fan comics, specifically nuzlocke fan comics.
No but how dare you recommend a manga that isn't finished, now I'm stuck wondering what's going to happen for who knows how long😭 I love it man
I like it so much that they made more for the game, this manga is incredible

It's weird the names being different, but I like it. It's something new.
Looks like a great story. Blue evoving the eevee she got from green. Great part
This is the Pokemon game/ show everyone wants, but I doubt they will ever make 😢.
I love the animation of the still art.
Dude, my heart is a rock, I have difficult in crying basically to anything, but the origin of the friendship between Red and Pikachu made me sob like never. Like, what the hell, how this manga can be so emotional, and I'm not even that fan of Pokémon franchise.

GHFHFHFH I JUST SAW THE CHEESED TO MEET YOU 😭
The art style of the manga is very amazing
Oh this was so good! Oh god, my heart

The Reason why Green gave Eevee was that he knew he couldn't take care of it
But green/gary trying to get arcanine to attack eevee (or in this case, espeon) shows that gary didnt actually care.

HAHA you can tell I made this video on a whim, didn't expect it to blow up like this
So I came across your video completely by chance. I haven't touched a pokemon game in such a long time. Heck, I figured I just "grew out of it" because the story line just seemed too simple and childish. The rest of the game just seemed too repetitive that I just didn't see the point anymore. I'm actually not even sure why I clicked on your video but I did. However, I'm glad that I gave this video a shot. The art work is really gorgeous to look at and the plot is also very compelling. I think I'll give this manga a try!
