Thanks for the de tale break down. But your net worth is not high enough to be truly retired, living in the bay area. You really need a paid off house plus at least 2 million in invest-able assets outside your paid off house to be retired.
Depends on the lifestyle you live. Control your expenses and you can make it work. That being said, I can't see why anyone would want to live in SF. You pay a ridiculous amount of money to live in a city filled with homeless tent cities, used needles in front of your million dollar property, human excrement on the sidewalks, and a DA that refuses to prosecute criminals so shoplifting and car break-ins are rampant since the criminals have nothing to fear. But, to each his own. Love the channel.
I bought Dogecoin around .06 after seeing your initial video. I sold most of it at .43 after Elon did SNL. Unfortunately I did not have a million Doge like you. Maybe Elon will invest more in Bitcoin or Doge after selling Tesla.
@@BeatTheBush ya, people tend to forget that real estate bubble pops can occur once (or more than once) during one's lifetime, and that prices can easily drop by 25% (or even up to 50%), depending on the neighborhood [during a major crash] -- which means that people who are levered up 5-to-1, 4-to-1 or even just 2-to-1 are at risk of going completely underwater on their homes
BeatTheBush knows this, but you dont really "Make" money until you turn it into cash equivalent, IMHO. "Unrealized gain" $1.6M net worth right now? I would expect a FIRE person would have a more net worth, but BeatTheBush is going lean, so I guess that is enough with a house paid off and a nice car paid for.. UA-cam income sounds good even though he call it low.
I realized some but I didn't elaborate too much. Interesting how some people think it's a lot and others do not. I think wealth is relative. With these gains alone, some people can live a lifetime off of it.
The FIRE number really depends on what you need to live. His net worth could be high compared to someone going for Coast FIRE or Lean FIRE in a LCOL area. If you go back to the video where he announced his financial independence it was even more lean than this. I think he outlined how he could live on something like $13,000 a year?
@@jdthompson5778 Having a good asset mix is important. Unless I misunderstood what BTB was saying, I thought his gambles are with money that he has without touching his official retirement money.
Cash equivalent after inflation could end up being lower value over time than keeping not-very-liquid assets like real estate. The US Dollar is stable for now, but many countries have had their currency decline or crash while land values and other assets remained valuable.

I am no longer retired. I am now making the best UA-cam videos I can.

What's this... DOG coin?
I bought Dogecoin around .06 after seeing your initial video. I sold most of it at .43 after Elon did SNL. Unfortunately I did not have a million Doge like you. Maybe Elon will invest more in Bitcoin or Doge after selling Tesla.
Nice! You made some great gains! Dogecoin will only move up until everybody forgets about it. So another half year? Lol.
Taxes on unrealized gains has entered the chat.
You were unconventionally wise to not borrow against your house (so that you don’t just “collect stones for your own tomb”)
To me, it's more like a solid base to work off of. Some can risk it and make more gains but that's too dangerous for me.
"Unrealized gain"
$1.6M net worth right now?
The US Dollar is stable for now, but many countries have had their currency decline or crash while land values and other assets remained valuable.
sorry 2nd comment of mine. 65K at 25% youtube effort means 260k at 100% effort ;) not sure how that compaires to EE
Mayyyyybe. But at least double I think.
That's a lot of cash just sitting around. Cash is trash so why not take a portion of that and make about 8% on stablecoins?
BTB evolving into Fat FIRE!
Your crypto plays are Interesting way to boost returns vs buying emerging markets equities.
I want to learn the benefits/drawbacks of using riskier assets (e g. Emerging market stocks) vs very risky assets (e.g. crypto).
Good to see you succeed with Dogecoin as well as Bitcoin👍
I wonder if we will see Graham in the comments section. 🤣🤣🤣
Dodgecoin video should be 3/2021... Not 2020
Shame on you Francis , for not mentioning the Series I-bond rate hike on November 1st. That is gross negligence in light of what the core content of your channel is (or was). You are getting complacent. You should apologize to those of us who look to you for well grounded financial advice .
As a millionaire...
Bubble market to the moon!
It's a game of musical chairs now.
Why continue to upload videos selling stuff if you are this rich
Because I realized working hard to make quality content hits a spot no purchase ever can.
35% apr is very misleading. You’re only getting the stock as a one time thing, closer to a 3% return.
It's all virtual
