Received mine a couple of days ago. I must say, it changed my mind about zoomies. It is very bright compared to other generic zoomies. It feels sturdy & comfortable to hold. I hope they do this on a sbt90.2 in the future. Anyway, very informative review.
Thanks to your excellent review I purchased this flashlight, I put in a 5000mah Samsung battery. The Convoy Z1 is outstanding, very bright and in the zoom function the beam goes a great distance 👍👍👍👍👍.I wish more companies made zoomys
Excellent review. I wish you had included Haikelite HT35 zoomable flashlight which I have been using for a while. HT35 is huge in size and requires 2 each 26650 batteries so the whole unit is very heavy. The maximum output is also 2000 lumens, same as Convoy Z1. But the big head dissipates heat very efficiently so the maximum output stays on for a long time. I have placed an order to buy 2 Convoy Z1. I like the smaller size but worry about the run time using 2000 lumens. Maybe I can carry 2 and switch them to get the brightest output.
How does this compare to the C8+? I guess I am of the rare ones that actually like zoomies. I like the flood aspect that could be used up close, i.e. looking for something in the yard. How's the throw between the 2? The fact the the Z1 doesn't last much at all on 100%, how much of a dis-qualifier would you say that is? Its a huge gap between 100% down to the next level of 35%. Does the C8+ XLP-HI have any temperature issues at 100%?
I'm surprised your area still uses HPS Lamps. Our streets here in Australia have all converted to LED. Only main roads still have HPS that are awaiting there death. I do miss those Amber Orange Lights.

It looks like the Z1 beam is both brighter and bigger than the others tested. I like the tight beam of the cometa also, but Z1's larger area of illumination is more useful, IMO.
Someones likes a lot. It's the maximum focus so... I was very close to get a cometa free gift in banggood but they not send me at end. So i should buy this one. In my opinion, zoom flashlights are very flexible and if they can solve some flaws (heating dissipation, good optics) they are just perfect for all-round use. For specifics uses, you can get much more powerful flashlights (as fw21pro or maybe sofirn sp70) but flexibility in zoom are a win-win if you only can had one

So you can See in Spot that the quality is not so good. For example LED Lenser Lights are more expenisv but the Beam a much better 👍

The 12 mode version is programmable. You can choose how many brightness levels to use.
