Mattias is one of the most underrated metal guitarists ever, everyone talks about Michael Schenker, but he only played on two Scorps albums, Mattias is the one who came up with all the classic riffs on the songs that made the Scorpions superstars in the 80's.
I think the influence of Michael on the Scorpions is rather small. It was always Rudolf's Band. With Uli Jon Roth they became a leading Hard Rock Band, with Matthias Jabs they became a Heavy Metal Band. The iconic vocals of Klaus were always there. The best Version of We'll Burn the sky is the one of Tokyo Tapes 1978!
Yeah. This is The Gold Masterpiece from Scorpions. Matthias is the BesT Guitarist what I ever seen (my option). And Rudolf Schenker is so powerful Guitarist. Klaus is Amazing vocalist. He's voice is so powerful and clean ( but not on the 1979-1982) When he got a vocal surgery (sing Too much and I Just watched a Some News cobule years ago. And Klaus said "You have to understand, in my early club days in Germany, I wasn't playing the usual 90 minute set. We were doing cover songs and sometimes we would play five to six hours a night, with little breaks in between. Years later, with the Scorpions, I think the heavy touring and studio schedule finally got me. My voice was in bad shape. I couldn't sing and I thought my career was over,"
What I wouldn't give to go back in time to the tokyo tapes and see the glorious album being made on stage. It's the only live album I've ever listened to that sends chills up my spine
And how is it that there is no full concert video footage of the greatest live rock album ever. Not even any individual song performance of Tokyo Tapes on recorded video.

So it appears the idea was for the shows to be turned into a live album all along. Just seems odd not to record it on video as well for posterity.

Klaus is like a man with a soprano :) Can't really call this voice a tenor ) Matthias is great but still trying to find his ground here, he had big shoes to fill. He then found his style really fast don't you worry ;)

Batphink Reynolds yea, it was released as part of the Scorpions “50th Anniversary Collection” that was released in 2015/2016. This footage came as part of the Lovedrive rerelease in that collection.
