- In my opinion The most picturesque airfield in the world. Meiringen is one of three main airbases of the Swiss Air Force. It is situated in an alpine valley of the Aar river. Like something out of Gotham City you can hear the jets firing up inside their caves in the hillside and taxiing across the public roads through the barriers. On this day we captured some hornets that had been out on a training sortie up in the range at Axalp.
Axalp 2 years in a row...i'm jealous! I'll be watching from the states this year. Awesome footage as always and thanks!

This is typical Switzerland. The territory is too small to have airports far away, so roads are crossing the runaways, chalets are built close and sometime you can see cows grazing. It is fun to stop to the barrier and see the airplane passing very close. You have a similar situation in Payerne

i like👍 how 🇨🇭switzerland builds their airports, airfields, airbases as just like a public parking lot.
unlike other countries builds airports like a prison if yk what i mean, a lot of walls, fences, barbed wires surrounding the airfield.

Can not wait for this!! Unfortunately the chair lift has sold out! Does anybody know how long it takes to walk to the viewing point from the giessbach hotel?
Can’t wait myself!! We skipped the ski lift last year on the way back down and took us an hour. You’ll Need to get the shuttle bus from brienz also.

Amazing shots! I prefer the look of this legacy Hornet to the Super Hornet. What a pleasure to watch them touch down on the runway.

I've been to general aviation airstrips where they need to hold traffic for planes to land but never front line military jets. This is so cool.

Whoa! Take-offs and landings will never be 'routine' deep within the confines of those mountains!
BTW: The ending in some of your videos of two F-35's, one passing immediately overhead, with the one behind abruptly turning is still my favorite. I think that did that specifically for you.

Nice landings, curious why the 121.5 is painted on the drop tank. This is the emergency freq every pilot memorizes early in training, is this directed at support troops somehow?
It’s used during what they call Hot Mission when intercepting other airplane.
