The great thing about this challenge is that as its only 1 bottle per region, every whisky channel is recommending bangers.

I am a bit disappointed: my favorites might be Aberlour 18, Glendronach 21 Parliament, Glengoyne 21, Talisker 12, Port. Charlotte PAC, and Campbeltown is diffivult because they are all great. Maybe the Glen Scotia 18

Great fun video Alan !! Some of your choices were dead ringers (Edradour, Bunna 12) but chuffed to see the Arran 18 there. Hopefully it’ll make a come back, although the 17 is filling the gap . I’d have squeezed Lagg into my lowlands choice, as it’s south of the highland boundary fault 😀. Quality for age is outstanding and I think in years to come it’ll be recognised as a star whisky! Just back from a trip to Arran with guys who got together through you, so big thanks fella for bringing folk together 👏👏👏

I don’t have one bottle from a Lowland distillery either. Bunna 13 cask strength was a favorite of mine, too.
    Cheers,
    Mike

    Interesting selection, Alan.
Regarding the Lowlands you selection is just as extended as mine 😂. My choice would be less sherried than yours and I'm going to Daftmill.
Speyside: decent choice of the distillery. Might be my choice as well.
Islands: none on my shelf, but would go to an IB HP (have tasted a stunning SMWS).
Highland: difficult choice. Most likely a Ben Nevis or peated Loch Lomod for me.
Islay: Staoisha for me (cask strength 2nd fill bourbon of course)
Campbeltown: darn, that's difficult. Bourbon matured for sure. All three distilleries produce great stuff.
    Slàinte mhath

Wow what a great selection, I can't find a single one of them here in NC, USA, As much as I love the sherried whiskeys, I would need something peated once in a while so I would have traded the Bunna, for the Uigeadail. I think Ugi would be in my top 5 if I had to pick only 1 whiskey for the rest of my life.

That Benromach 2009 Batch 1 is fantastic! I still remember that I thought it smelled like smoked salami sausage when I first opened my bottle. I later had a 2009 batch 2 (sample), which didn't give me that same sensation. I'm always keeping an eye out for the 2009 batch 1 in auctions. Great pick!

    As usual, excellent reviews.
For me, from Campbeltown, I’d probably have to go with SB12CS if “there can be only one” - I love cask strength whiskies, each batch is a little different, it was my 1st Campbeltown bottle, and all of them I’ve had were excellent. Though the ones I chase the hardest are the Longrow Reds. Unlike SB12CS, I haven’t loved EVERY Longrow Red I’ve tried, but LR Red 13 Chilean Cab Sav remains one of my all-times

Hi Alan. Surely you would wake up one morning thinking ‘why didn’t I pick a heavy duty smokey whisky, a bright fresh Aran Sauternes, and a Lochlea.
You could make blends of all kinds using combinations and have variety to suit the seasons and your moods.
