NPWT Training - How to apply dressing for negative pressure wound therapy

This training shows how to prep a wound and apply the dressing for negative pressure wound therapy using DACC contact layer. Accelephase has proprietary use of DACC with NWPT. This dressing application has superior clinical outcomes with patients healing an average of 42 days vs. 66 days with KCI NPWT. This study was completed by Healogics Wound Clinic.

VERY IMPORTANT NOTE: for the wound vac to work properly it requires a 2.5cm round hole opening in the drape when the trackpad will be attached regardless of the size of the wound. If the wound is too small the mushroom technique should be used

Hopefully your surgery went well. I had pilonidal cyst surgery and had it for 2 weeks. I had to shower with little to no water because of its location and the dressing changes was the most painful experienced of my life. And the buzzing and not being able to move too much was hell for me. But can’t deny the healing part. Curious about your experience.

Help is it possible that the machine stops taking fluid from the wound because there's no more fluid to suc on ??? It happened on my uncle the machine took a few fluid then stops even if the machine is still on , please help thank you
