We were there in May. We stayed in Marathon at the Sea Dell Motel. Even Dramamine did not help all the people on the way back. Glad you had a nice trip.

    Love Dry tortugas
I took a sea plane there and loved it uncle Robert. The rangers that live there are tough characters for sure.
    Hot little island
There is a waiting list for the rangers that want to live there and when hurricanes hit, all the key rangers and families go there for safety. The rangers that live there love it and supplies come on Tuesday. They have internet, electric and everything must be brought in. No fresh water and whatever you carry in-carry out.
Rangers enjoy evening bon fires and cook outs with the 2-3 ranger families that live there . There was a older ranger and his wife that had lived there for years, not sure if he retired.
There are several private island dwellers in that area that have wood structures and use generators. There is a large cable that runs from Key West on the ocean floor that provides internet, electric and so on.
    Great video Uncle Robert!

Great video Robert again, always love the visits to Key West. Have you ever been on the Ghost tour in Key West? It's a fascinating tour of Key West and a good laugh. The visit to the Fort East Martello Museum was unmissable, very spooky. The glass bottom boat tour is also really good.

Haven't done the ghost tour yet. I did a glass bottom at John Pennekamp in Key Largo that was fabulous.

Wow. That moat wall has taken a beating over the years! I've been out there 3 times by plane but have never seen part of it subside under the waves. Was always able to walk it all the way around. They'll have to shore it up at some point to protect the fort.

Now that was a beachcraft airplane. I went one time in 2000, not as rough but bad enough. I put my head down where there is seating at a table. When I awoke and all was calm. one of the crew had placed a barf bag in front of me. Made me laugh, the sleep got me through it. It was calm and we had a great snorkel by the wall. That is what we did mostly. Going back was calmer and fine. I wish I could fly a seaplane there from Titusville, or drive out there in a camper. Imagine that. When I lived in Maryland, the lady neighbor across the street was Dr. Mudd's granddaughter. I think he turned out to be a hero out there helping with yellow fever.

Great video, Robert! At 12:50, the "Pterodactyl-looking bird" is called a Magnificent Frigatebird (yes, that's really its name!). They are incredible birds, staying aloft for months at a time, eating and even sleeping on the wing, at times flying up to 12,000 feet high. You got a nice close look!
    Thanks for another excellent video.

    • @TravelingRobert

The ferry is currently running a special for $99 and that includes admission to the park. I believe normally it is $175, so we got a good deal.
