I DO NOT OWN THE RIGHTS TO THIS MUSIC NO COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT!!!
"You got a right to Praise HIM." And that is what I know. Hallelujah, indeed. Love YOU, Almighty GOD.
I just love how the auditorium WAS NOT READY and they went IN ANYWAY!
Haha. I know, right ?!
Im sorry but were the auditorium actually unprepared for their arrival from a production sense of quality
Cultural Vernacular barrier at 12 o’clock🙄
@@blackswann9 🤣🤣Right!
OMG I was watching it LIVE!! And, it was pure FIRE the way they turned the Grammy's out 1983! We were not accustomed to seeing 'us' on tv praising God then. Spectacular!!
I love that their mom was on stage with them
This was actually Granmys 1985.
And they performed with Mama Clark, truly a blessed, wonderful and highly favored family.
22 year old Karen owning that whole Grammy show. Every performer there wishes they had half of that talent and charisma. 😍
This family has the anointing
..l remember this when it aired...it endures as a serious moment in AMERICAN POP CULTURE...
I was watching with my mom 🥰❤🙏🏾👏🏾❤
They ate and left no crumbs with this 1 min performance!!
Makes no sense how this abbreviated rendition STILL killed!!!
I don’t care what anyone says !! This moment was epic !! Some of them people didn’t have Jesus no where on the mind they got a full dosage in that short amount of time…. Religious folks can kick rocks …
1:41 Lionel Richie looked *real* stuffie but Sheila E was totally here for it.
right!!! I was so confused by his response. It looked like Dionne was here for it tho. lol
@@kaylawaylaaa25 Oh yeah, Dionne was living for it too.
@@kaylawaylaaa25 Dionne knows about gospel music her cousins were in the drinkard singers.
@@kaylawaylaaa25 I am just as confused. Like he literally made "Jesus is Love", why sit and act like that?
@@keepingitrealandtruthful.5081 Her mother,aunts and uncles
I’m looking at Lionel Richie like; if you don’t stop acting like you don’t know where yo help come from???😂😂😂😂
Right?! Acting brand new 🤣🤣
😂😂😂 I’m stealing this
Sad how they was critisized for their mom performing with them. God is good🕊️🤍🙌🏾
They dropped some Jesus like a 💣 at the Grammys!
I like that their mom sing along with them at Grammy awards
I came here after the Clark sisters movie
THE KILT THAT STAGEEEEEE
Best version of this performance. Whoever posted it, thank you!
The white people was just so amazed 😭😭
Sheila E was into it ❤️ The white performers were like what is going on in here... Wonderful and anointed performance..
I remember watching this as a 2 year old. Those dresses and voices were memorable!!!
I'm so glad this posted!! I'm 40 today
but was raised Pentecostal like COGIC how they grew up. No pants, no blues, (worldly music) jewelry, or make-up! I introduced my diet Catholic husband to them and now Karen is one of his favorite singers period! When he was in the ICU, I played "He loves me" ❤️ on repeat per his request! He doesn't even remember shaking his head to it but I played it for him and he responded. That was years ago but he still loves them to this day. ❤️ TCS are part of MY upbringing and I'm not ashamed of the Gospel!! I'm not where I should be spiritually but God will always be in my heart. I bless Him for grace and mercy!
The best singers are Gospel singers, period!
So nice seeing this, I remember meeting them at a James Cleveland gospel convention in the 70s I was mesmerized by twinkles voice
Well black gospel singers back them were vocally trained . They treated their voices LIKE INSTRUMENTS!!
Yes their mom was opera trained vocally and classically trained on the piano and in turn she trained her daughters.
@@keepingitrealandtruthful.5081 amazing !! That’s why they sound perfect
Gospel singers now are STILL trained.
@@TerrellAmari THEY WERE ALL TRAINED , ALL OF THEM .
She also sent them to music school in Detroit to gain extra training because Twinkie asked her mother ( Dr Clark) will Gospel destroy their voices because the instructor didnt think gospel was suitable vocally, and Dr Clark in return ask Twinkie, "has my voice been destroyed"????😂😂😂😂😂
They did that..the crowd felt it
If they won’t praise HIM . I’m gonna praise HIM 🗣#HALLALUJAH
1:07 kills me 💀
Had mama with them❤️❤️
Omg the audience 😭 *If you know Jesus, say yeeeeeassas* 😳
Lionel Richie acting like he don't know how Black ppl have chuuuch!!!
That's exactly what I was thinking. I was like what the heck Lionel?!
That part
They brought the Holy Ghost up in that place!
They went in there like the Ward Singers and said "Ya'll gon have CHURCH whether you want to or not!"
CLARK 6💙
Yayyyyy you outta praise the LAWWWWWD
Wow, this is just awesome and amazing to see after so many years, the Holy Spirit came in and lit the place up. Shelia E and Bruce Greenwood's reactions were priceless 🤗🤩❤❤❤👏👏👏🔥🔥
Lionel and Dionne was jamming!!
He acted scared
Dope! Never knew this performance existed!!
This is Epic … ❤❤❤
This is crazy I'm watching the movie on lifetime for the first time rn. I came to see how correct they got it. And they nailed it then and in the movie. And gosh you guys black folk done took over the grammies....1983 until now not to many white folk go no more well I should say there are way more blks that are invited an rich now.
Them folks ain’t know what to do!!!!!!!!!!!
Amen!!!
Oh I remember this ❤
Finalllyyyy
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
They were SO CLASSY, ELEGANT!!! Nowadays the gospel folk look like? I just dunno...
This was filmed in 1985 not '83.

🥳💜‼️
This is exactly what I'm thinking, feeling, and this is the exact song that came to mind after I watched the weather forecast as the balls of hell / AKA / July 2023 is FINALLY SLITHERING AWAY.
Hallelujah! Good riddance! Go!!
Outside the fact that I hate very loud explosions / gun / lightning and thunder And thusly never into loud fireworks, I detest the dangerous hellish heat and humidity that plagued us the entire month of July!🥵🥵😫😫
GOOD RIDDANCE! GET OUTTA HERE! GET!!
Lionel Richie doing double church clap 3:05...
I think dorinda was singing soprano on this song with Denise because they would’ve over powered her with 3 of them singing alto
Im sure She sang soprano alone, her soprano always stands out and Jacky and Dorinda have strong alto tones.. i.e the Gospel Movie. Always listen for her operatic "hallelujah",. Niecys tone is distinctive.
@@thegospeloutlet2000 that’s true to
Yeah, once Karen takes lead, Denise and Dorinda are soprano, Jacky is alto by herself, and Twinkie takes tenor.
1985
Mattie Moss wasn't singing with her daughters in 85 neither was Denise.
83
@@keepingitrealandtruthful.5081 Denise left between 85-86. This video was recorded early 1985. This is the same Grammy Awards show that Prince and Tina Turner performed at in 1985. The Clark Sisters were nominated for a Grammy in '83, I believe that's why people get the years confused.
Completely out of order, irresponsible, and unchristlike. The majority of you all reading this comment will not get it and think that I am mean, but somebody knows what I am talking about.
Nobody knows what you’re talking about you old troll
Well……I see that Judgy Judy is in the house!! 🙄🙄🙄🥱
@@dinard38There's always one
But how? Explain
Maybe you should go read the part of the scripture where King David's was embarrassed to see him dancing in the street as the Ark of the Covenant was returning home; hint: God punished her now go find out how. The problem is you have been taught by an uninformed leader/church or your yourself need to brush up on your reading. All this to say they did exactly what they were supposed to do! They brought praise & worship where it was most needed! AND I recommend you to go look up Pastor Shirley Ceaser song "Hold My Mule" (the 'green beans/potatoes/tomatoes song). It starts with the story of a man being kicked out of church for wildly praising God but they find out later why he was so excited to praise God.
