It's lovely. I use old books for years, using Maggie Holmes products as well as embellishments. For me, it is easier to take all the pages off, as a whole unit, and keep it aside for art journaling and decoration. I use the cover and add hinges I make myself and then attach them to the book cover (when I have chunky papers with lots of embellishments). When I don't, I saw them directly to the cover and use the book as a simple junk journal. So much fun!
I so lOVE this, I can't wait to try my hand at this, this weekend. These collections will work perfectly with my South Carolina pics that I've been waiting to do something with for a few years now.
LOVE...LOVE...LOVE...this idea!!! I can't wait to try it! I'm sure you've thought of this--all those pages you cut out of the book can be used for other projects (i.e., card backgrounds, scrapbook page embellishments, flower making, mixed media,...). Thank you for sharing this idea! Going to look through all my books and go to the local thrift store for a few books perfect for this project!
Hi new subby I love this I have a bunch of old scrap books I want to redo his is a perfect way to make them over!! And then you can put them in a Shelf and they look like books! You're a genius Maggie...
I will make a trip to the library and check out the books they have for sale and Goodwill . This is adorable.
