  • Tracing Minerals With Success Dendrite Quartz | Fluorite | Gem Hunting North Carolina | Part 2 |
This is a hard rock quartz vein in Western North Carolina. I have been working and pulling out gem quality water clear quartz crystals with crazy inclusions and coatings.
This is the real deal from start to finish from prospecting out a compressed exposed vein of quartz. Discovering it pocketing out in different various areas with fluorite, pyrite and magnesium oxide.
Part 1 Some really aesthetical quartz crystals came out of a small pocket. The opportunity browns with each crystal pull.
Part 2 Exposing more of the vein. We start pulling crystals out of the pocket mud with a surprise at the end.
    Part 3 to come....

Great video. A small sifter and a pan of water? Man there's gotta be tons hiding in that mud!

For sure!!! I placed a tarp underneath the pockets and everything I missed came home in a bucket. Hundreds of smalls hit the sifter.

If that is truly a crystal and not a cleavage it is a Octahedron not cubic. They are much rarer than cubes.

I see I'm probably fracturing them upon removal or nature fractured them...
