I would encouraged my lady to ride a scooter style since it't not very practical when they wear skirts or dresses while riding a motorcycle. I noticed she is on her tippy toes while sitting on the MSX, not so good. I have a Grom myself , just fun to take it to the supermarket . I'd get the CUB or scooter, much more practical
even when they ride scooter you cop an accidental eye-full with some of the dresses and skirts they wear around the place.
The scooter looks more practical for local trips. She might get tired of having to swing her leg over the bike and the constant shifting. I had a Suzuki 750 for many years, and if I was living in Vietnam with the type of traffic they have, I would get a scooter.
She's lived in Saigon her whole life and is aware. End of day her choice. Scooter was way out of budget

Bikes are fine but Vietnam has lots of rain so need lots of wet weather gear
In addition, scooter can care more stuffs, good for her shopping and go to the market. That's probably why it's more expensive. But the MSX or the Ninja looks much better than the scooter. Do you need license to ride these bikes?
Based on the video, I wouldn't say it was totally her choice--I'd say it was more of what your budget allowed, and there's nothing wrong with that. I only have 2 women friends who ride a motorbike, the rest prefer a scooter because of its practicality in relation to what they usually do and as already mentioned in the other comments. At that price range, it was a good decision to buy it brand new off a dealer. Buying something like that second hand would be rolling the dice without warranty, plus the risk of shady sellers substituting parts and all.
Seems too small to ride two people at once.

I own a grom, 125 and a honda winner, 150. I weigh 100kg. On my winner I had givi lock boxes and a top box mounted on the back. With my weight, fully loaded boxes and my girlfriend on the back that winner could still crack 120 kmh, when it was safe of course. I did have to have the seat re cut and softer foam to suit my western butt. My grom has an after market exhaust, a K&N cold air intake and DMH chip and I'm still struggling to get 90 kmh with no additional weight, add a bit of wind and the k's drop off. I also have a habit of going off on random muddy trails and my winner handled it pretty well.
The KLX 250 looks pretty good, might look into it next time.
This is not an opinion on the best bike for your lady, ultimately its your missus that has to ride it and i love riding both my bikes. I'm only giving my opinion based on owning both of them.

Groms are pretty popular here in San Diego. But if you have a back seat rider. They are going to push the driver forward which is pretty uncomfortable. Experience......
Congrats buddy, I really like the look of the grom. Ended up buying a new 2021 Honda trail a few months ago but the grom made it a tough choice to make.

2.5k in Asean market is kinda expensive for grom. My 2018 SF grom cost me 2.3k. Very first OG model cost only 1.8k back then and the new 2021/22 model cost around 2.5k. For the US, the price seem very cheap since its cost more there.

The battery was dead , the fuse was blown and it was flooded at the fuel pump

The CB350 seems ridiculously overpriced, for what is essentially a very cheap bike (US$2700 ish), made in India but selling in Vietnam for US$9000?
