      I go to an AoG church (it's where i found God). How are you liking it? I guess the one i go to isnt crazy people dont speak in tongues haha (i hear that a lot from other people talking about Pentacostals)
      I do love my church and the people there, but learning more theology has made me want to try other ones just to see the difference in them

    The best argument I have for Catholicism (as someone raised in it and going through RCIA) is that we are not perfectionists. We all know that we’re sinners, and that’s something we just have to deal with

      Yes, in terms of choosing a theologically sound church, because you know what you're gonna get going to a Roman Catholic or Eastern Orthodox church due to their governing bodies overseeing that their churches follow their denomination's beliefs, and for Baptists every church is an island theologically, so the only way to tell if a Baptist church has good theology is if you go there for a while and see what they preach.

    Don’t stay away from some non denominational churches there is Good ones out there doesn’t matter if your institution believes differently then calvinists , We have the internet now we can educate ourselves on theology . I am a Christian I don’t hold myself 100 percent the teachings of any church , however I adopt lots of theological ideas from lots of denominations . For example I affirm the sacraments like baptism and the Communion. I believe in the role of Christianity as kingdom where we need to transform the world and fight for Christian tradition and beliefs . However I do believe in dispensations in the Bible i believe In a literal 1000 years of Christ being after Jesus comes back. However we should focus on Jesus and having a personal relationship as well as contributing to society to make it better .

    i dont know about orthodox churches from personal experience, but ive been to a local catholic church several times. historically, the preaching of a word is what God uses to changes people and what is the most important part of churches ministry. I'm not against rich tradition, but the focus always has to be the true teaching. you may not like baptists and i understand why, but in the end, who is more faithful to preaching the word? tradition won't save anyone, and sadly there are many roman catholics sitting in their pretty churches who may feel close to god there, but since they dont hear the gospel clearly, they won't be saved. so i would advise against going to roman catholic church. the reformation happened for a reason... i love catholics though, i wish the whole church could unite one day. but as long as they will keep adding works to a grace it can't happen.

    Idk how you could recommend a Catholic or Orthodox Church over a reformed baptist church as a presbytarian. From my experience reformed baptist churches and Presbyterian churches are almost exactly the same, the only real difference in theology is their view of baptism and from my experience many reformed baptist churches take the lords super very seriously and are confessional, whereas Roman Catholic believe almost an entirely different gospel in many cases

      I’m not RZ, but I’d encourage you to read all church positions. Regardless of where you land on the issue, it’s a lazy assumption that Mainline churches just ignore Scripture; they put a lot of time and effort into defending their positions, regardless of whether or not you agree. Personally, my best friend is gay and my wife’s good childhood friend is gay, so I’m very accepting and sympathetic. I take the same view as with the literal Genesis creation account (and I know RZ accepts evolution, so it’s similar reasoning…) … it’s not that the problem is with the Bible (it’s NEVER with Scripture!) but rather with our interpretation of it. To each his own, I guess, and anyone who affirms the Resurrection, accepts the Trinity and tries his best to live by Jesus’ message is a good Christian.

    • @DN-cf5rz
      @DN-cf5rz Рік тому +10

      No, it's not "to each his own". The Bible is very clear on this issue and all of Christendom has been too for the last 2,000 years. We should still love everyone as Christ does but scripture and tradition are incredibly clear that we should not condone their actions; it's the same with any form of sin. Read Romans, 1 Corinthians and Leviticus to see for yourself.

    • @fighterofthenightman1057
      @fighterofthenightman1057 Рік тому

      @@DN-cf5rz The Bible gives advice for how masters should treat their slaves. That doesn’t mean God condones slavery, it means Scripture was providing guidance for the people of that time to navigate the world in which they lived.

      @@fighterofthenightman1057 It's fine to hold that opinion but it's not Biblical. We can't twist the Bible to fit our current moral code, the Bible is not morally relativistic. If anyone thinks homosexuality is an acceptable lifestyle then they disagree with what the Bible says about it.

    • @fighterofthenightman1057
      @fighterofthenightman1057 Рік тому

      @@DN-cf5rz Every Christian interprets the Bible differently, yet it’s only this relatively irrelevant issue that seems to have people up in a fuss. To me, it’s clear as day that the Bible outlines communion as a Sacrament where we receive to body and blood of Christ, and I think Baptist and Evangelical views of this are completely unfounded and heretical … I bet they don’t care and have their own interpretation and that’s fine. To me, they’re “not Biblical” on this issue. They’re still Christians, and I don’t question their faith the way it’s so often done in the other direction.

    I don’t quite think that’s what Joel Olstein preaches. He preaches blessings (that can come in many and in any for) that will enter your life if you have faith and trust in the Lord’s ways over your life. “His ways are higher then our ways”. I’ve never heard him say ‘you will get material objects’ by having faith in God. He list some examples of blessing which he refers may happen to you because of God’s plan and blessing over your life. You are blessed, not - you are granted your desires because you have faith.

Reading online my church doesn’t sound very similar to the generalized coc but rather is more open to interpretation of the bible and I have yet to hear something from you I disagree with. What videos of yours should I watch to solidify my understandings, I know the bible rather well, but the history and culture of how religion has changed confuses me and I get the American feeling of not trusting the system and want to make sure I believe in the true bible and the word and not just a denomination or “non denomination”. The main reason I still love my church is the people are amazing and giving and also do lots of old fashion charity and really take the word seriously even if it means someone brings up something they are doing wrong with scripture they will change.
